The anti-gun lobby in the United States is in disarray, just two years after the Columbine High School massacre convinced many that serious gun control rules were finally in sight. Instead of being a vote winner, gun control is seen by many legislators as a vote loser. Many Democrats blame it for costing Al Gore the presidency last year.
KABA Note: WHAT? Has this reporter been paying attention to the new laws being passed and proposed around the U.S.? Apparantly NOT. |

Police said that the robbers apparently concealed themselves beneath wooden steps by the entrance and waited for one guard to go inside the business and come back out. When the guard came back out, they jumped out and attacked the guard with mace and took the bag of money. The guard who was attacked had time to pull his gun, but one robber reacted by kicking the gun out of his hand.
~~I guess mace will be banned next? |

The school shooting you won't hear about on CNN...
All the facts on this one aren't in (someone in the Miami-Dade area should look into the details of this story), so it's too soon to know for certain, but this could be a case of justified self-defense by armed students at a public school. |

Brad Edmonds writes: "Giving fully automatic weapons to old ladies sounds extreme, and Im not claiming that people too weak to care for themselves should brandish sidearms; neither should drunks or children. But arming decent people, including your Aunt Bea, and arming them with yes machine guns if they want, is the way to make America safer for all of us. Let me explain:"
~~And so he does, quite well. And of course, KABA gets a reference! |

Now you can be ARRESTED for not wearing your seat belt, according to the "Supreme" Court. Fourth Amendment? Who needs it anymore, right?
"The dissent warned the ruling 'has potentially serious consequences for the everyday lives of Americans. A broad range of conduct falls with the category of fine-only misdemeanors,' extending from traffic offenses to littering, for example."
Glad to see someone on the bench has a brain. |

Rap superstar Eminem pleaded no contest today to two gun-related charges, less than two weeks after he was sentenced to two years' probation on a separate charge of carrying a concealed weapon [without a license]. He faces up to five years in prison, but his lawyers advised him to plead no contest on the expectation he would receive probation. |
