I first became aware of Carey McWilliams in 2018. Carey has been completely blind since age 10. He distinguished himself by acquiring carry permits in several states, and by successfully hunting big game and birds with firearms.
I met Carey at the Gun Rights Policy Conference in 2018. He graciously gave me a copy of A Shooting Guide for the Blind to review. |

In front of some of the nation's most enthusiastic gun owners, President Donald Trump and Gov. Eric Holcomb separately signed measures Friday demonstrating their commitment to the right of law-abiding Americans to possess and use guns.
Both leaders, along with Vice President Mike Pence, also assured the 15,000-strong audience inside Lucas Oil Stadium for the National Rifle Association's annual convention that no law limiting Second Amendment freedoms ever will take effect while they hold office. |

As the debate over the 2nd Amendment continues unabated in the United States, it's not unusual for foreign nationals to observe the infighting and wonder why Americans are so protective of their right to bear arms.
That curiosity may be turning to understanding for some Venezuelans, however, as a group called Rumbo Libertad described in this Breitbart op-ed as a conservative Venezuelan group begins to push for gun rights as citizens patiently await the exit of Nicolas Maduro. |

Pearson, with the Illinois State Rifle Association, said gun owners by and large responsibly store their firearms. He said ISRA would oppose any attempt to legally require guns to be locked up.
Every time the lawmakers try and cook up some scheme, it is so complex that it doesnt work, Pearson said. The law-abiding gun owner is not the problem here. Its the non-law-abiding gun owner thats the problem.
Gun-rights supporters like Pearson can make a lot of noise in Springfield. Hundreds marched on the Capitol last month for the annual Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day. |

Sig Sauer thundered into the polymer pistol market when they introduced the P320 to market a few years ago and it has taken the civilian market and the US military by storm. They followed up this striker-fired duty pistol offering with a pocket-sized P365, which hit the shelves last year. Both models have been very successful, but Sig isn't this late to the polymer pistol game.
Their first plastic fantastic debuted back in 1999 and it is still to be had, the SP2022otherwise known as the Sig Pro. |

The initial ruling shot down Californias ban on possession of magazines holding more than ten rounds. What was extremely important in that decision was the rationale for the ruling. Judge Roger T. Benitez ruled that because standard capacity magazines were in common use for lawful purposes, he applied a test that knocks out many of the gun bans that are being called for by the likes of Joe Biden, Eric Swalwell, Andrew Cuomo, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Jerrold Nadler. |

According to police, the driver of the BMW got out to inspect the damage and when he went back to get his cell phone, the Volkswagen driver approached with a handgun, demanded his keys and pushed him into the vehicle.
Both men were inside the vehicle when police said the 41-year-old BMW driver retrieved his handgun and shot the 22-year-old man in the head.
"I think concealed carry is a good thing," said Eduardo Yearwood. "I think criminals should think twice before they attempt to do something to somebody."
The 22-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his identity. |

The bill expanding the right to self-defence from intruders, fashioned by Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, introduces norms similar to US 'stand your ground' laws.
Among the new factors to be weighed in self-defence cases there is the concept of "serious emotional disturbance" in the face of intruders, which would legitimise even deadly self defence. |
