On Good Friday, the holiest day in the Christian calendar, a Capitol City police officer William "Billy" Evans was killed when a car rammed into a Capitol entrance and the occupant started wielding a knife once he got out. The suspect, Noah Green, was ultimately killed. Another officer has been injured. As Matt and Katie have covered, the mainstream media and verified blue check marks on Twitter still have not learned their lesson, and still rushed to claim that the suspect was white. Green was black, and a member of the Nation of Islam. He was a vocal supporter of its leader, the anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan. Once this was established, squad member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) rushed to bring up guns and gun control. |

All across the country, millions of Americans are on the hunt for ammunition, either for self-defense, target practice, shooting sports or hunting. Sporting goods stores and small mom and pop businesses have had to severely limit how many rounds of ammo a person can buy at one time. Some have even gone so far as to limit ammo solely to those who are purchasing a new firearm because of the shortage. |

Last year I was inspired to ditch my AR-15 for a Marlin 1895. See, I shot a mid-sized doe with an AR-15 firing a supersonic 300blk round designed specifically for that purpose; Problem is, even with a broadside angle on the deer and shot placement behind the shoulders, the doe still managed to run 60 yards before expiring.

In the 1980s, gun prohibitionists almost accomplished a national ban on then-new polymer-frame pistols, such as Glocks, with the bogus claim that plastic guns are invisible to metal detectors. The NRA stood in their way, and this nonsense was stopped. But the case highlights a point often lost in debates about gun rights: Free citizens have always been at the forefront of new firearm technologies. |

Fox News is reporting that the attorneys general in 22 states have signed onto an amicus brief to the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, urging the court to again rule against Californias controversial attempt to ban high-capacity magazines, after the court agreed to reconsider its decision to rule it unconstitutional.
The case is Duncan v. Becerra, and it may provide an avenue to a Supreme Court consideration about a restrictive gun control law that has affected millions of gun owners in several states. |

One of the more common types of small caliber ammunition, the copper-plated round nose can be carried, sold and fired just about anywhere. While the average round nose is becoming less common due to lead concerns, copper plating added during the manufacturing process has become an easy and affordable solution. |

Federal data on causes of death in America show that, as recently as 2018, falling accounted for at least 126 times as many fatalities as rifles of any kind an inconvenient fact for Democrat lawmakers who are currently demanding a new round of nationwide gun controls. Centers for Disease Control and Preventions (CDC) 2018 National Vital Statistics show 37,455 people died from unintentional falls throughout the year.

Americans sure are exercising their Second Amendment rights. March had the second-highest number of background checks for the purchase of a firearm on record, beaten only by March of last year, according to new data from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). NSSF analysis indicates more than two million background checks were conducted for the purchase of a firearm through the FBIs National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) last month. Through the first quarter of 2021, nearly 5.5 million were conducted, according to the NSSF-adjusted data. |

One of the biggest complaints about OWB leather holsters is wearing out over time and letting the lip of the holster curl over. The curling issue is far more than simple aesthetics: the worn leather can trip the trigger on the way in, causing an accidental discharge down your leg. Over the past several years, leather holster makers have heard this criticism from many sourcesyours truly includedand have taken steps to remedy the situation.

While little is known about Tom Threepersons, the larger-than-life exploits of the Native American lawman reveal him to have been a jack-of-all trades, but master of armed conflict. It isnt big enough to deserve the title of library so I cant logically call it one, but there are sure a lot of books in that back room. Ever since I settled in one place, I have given free rein to my quiet thirst for all kinds of books about guns, gun equipment and gun people. A purge is inevitable, but it pains me to think of such a thing. I need them all. Theres always another pressing research project (with another pressing deadline) just over the horizon. |
