New gun owners want to learn how to handle their firearm. Let's also talk about the legal use of lethal force, and about the fundamentals of armed defense.

There is a lot we can do with what we have.

Some states with anti-gun leadership [read Democrats] are trying to eliminate any sort of insurance that will help protect a gun owner if a gun owner should be forced to use a gun in self-defense. These states offer as authority for halting self-defense insurance that it's disallowed to insure an illegal activity.

Some of the top prepper advisers who rightly counseled people in the early days of the coronavirus crisis to hoard toilet paper and fuel are now urging the purchase of defensive guns as the national lockdown drags on through April. Pew-Pew Tactical boss Eric Hung told us that firearms are still hot but that the focus has turned to more oriented home-defense guns like pump action shotguns and cheaper handguns. And with that, he added, ammunition and sights for those guns are surging.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to dominate our nations headlines and the concerns of most Americans. In the pro-Second Amendment community, weve watched a seemingly never-ending deluge of developments that could, or would, have an impact on our right to keep and bear arms. And, of course, that means a potential impact on our right to self-defense.

While we maintain that the rifle is the de facto firearm for self-defense in a pandemic like COVID-19, there is still plenty of room for a handgun. If you've never considered purchasing defensive firearm before and the long gun looks intimidating from a user perspective, a handgun might be a better option. You head to the local gun shop and find things pretty well picked over and the guy behind the counter is doing his best to give you good advice, but he's got a limited inventory and he's been working 12 hour days for a week. So, what should you consider when shopping for your first handgun when inventories are limited?

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson (R) filed a lawsuit Jan. 29 with the state Supreme Court against the city of Columbia over its anti-gun ordinances. We have consistently advised for almost three decades, since 1991, that state law preempts local regulation of firearms. These ordinances clearly violate the state law that prohibits local governments from passing any gun laws or ordinances that regulate the transfer, ownership, or possession of firearms, said Wilson in a press release. In this case, the Second Amendment is paramount and cannot be undercut.

Its unlikely that any other U.S. military unit ever fielded such an array of weaponry as did the Military Assistance Command Vietnam, Studies and Observations Group. Behind that innocuous name, MACV-SOG ran top-secret, covert operations across Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, especially U.S. Army Special Forces-led reconnaissance missions along the enemys Ho Chi Minh Trail road network in Laos, into his sanctuaries in Cambodia, and sometimes into North Vietnam, itself.

After unanimously passing a resolution earlier this year stigmatizing gun owners and declaring the National Rifle Association as a Domestic Terrorist organization, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors is at it again. As their draconian policies have closed every single gun shop within the city, they now are striking out to politicize guns and gun owners once again. This time the Board will be considering a resolution to evaluate the public health threat of panic buying firearms and for county health officials to warn of the dangers associated with firearm ownership. This at a time when Americans are obtaining the means to defend themselves and their loved ones at a record pace.

Introduced by Alexander Arms at the 2004 SHOT Show, the 6.5mm Grendel was developed in an intermediate caliber that would outperform the 5.56x45 round and would be effective up to 800 yards out. It also needed to be chambered in the AR-15 platform, including the double stack magazine configuration. The resulting cartridge has a necked up case based on the 6mm PPC benchrest cartridge.
