Carl Junction's Circle T Collectibles has everything from Native American artifacts to Civil War memorabilia. But the burglar or burglars who broke into the store sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning were focused on one thing: Guns. Five modern pistols, one World War II era pistol, and a rifle were taken in what's being described as a "smash and grab" burglary. "They actually seemed to target what they were looking for. Mostly concealable type pistols and one rifle, and then got away clean at this point," said Carl Junction Chief of Police Delmar Haase. |

A scathing Op-Ed published in the Saturday edition of the Seattle Times decries the Jet Citys descent into toxic politics and something of a magnet for homeless people and drug addicts that apparently has become so bad that its not even a safe environment around the King County Courthouse.
By Monday morning, the opinion piece authored by science writer and microbiologist Alex Berezow had attracted more than 1,000 responses from readers, and there was not much middle ground. A lot of people have grown to hate the city, which was once home to Boeing. Others defend what the city has become. |

Although a tremendous amount of thought goes into gear, many individuals who choose to carry a gun fail to put the same amount of thought into their training. After some basic instruction, a new gun owner will need to practice at regular intervals to stay proficient. Here, we've compiled a basic five-phase practice routine that will keep your defensive-shooting skills fresh. |

An escaped convict is probably thinking twice about his decision to try carjacking someone while he was on the run from corrections officers. Turns out, the driver of the car he tried to take had a concealed-carry permit and was armed. The prisoner had stolen a truck and escaped from custody on Feb. 3, and several days later was in a Department of Corrections medical facility being treated for a gunshot wound. He was originally imprisoned in 2003 on a 30-year sentence for armed robbery.

The NRA is reacting to the backlash against Yeti Coolers by suggesting pro-gun Americans consider covering the Yeti name with an NRA sticker rather than blowing the coolers to smithereens. On April 21 Breitbart News reported the NRA-ILA statement that Yeti Coolers had severed ties with the NRA Foundation. Outdoorsman, hunters, and NRA members reacted by launching a #BoycottYeti movement on Twitter and then transitioned to posting videos of themselves blowing up their Yetis, shooting holes in them, or otherwise destroying them. |

Many times, its after an act of violence. I definitely felt powerless, defenseless, just scared, said Santosha Dupuis. Dupuis says she had never shot a gun and never thought she'd be taking a concealed weapons class and training on how to shoot. |

It was an ordinary day in 2011 when I found myself watching a YouTube video of a gun owner making a semiautomatic rifle discharge bullets rapidly, as if it were an automatic weapon. My gun-owning husband watches firearms videos like this one, however, I had never seen one. Intrigued, I sat down on the couch to absorb the imagery. Hooking his thumb through the belt loop of his pants, the YouTuber demonstrated how pushing the gun forward, rather than pulling the trigger, allowed the guns recoil to keep the gun going. |
