... "I'm so delighted to see the national media breaking the fact that BATFU and the 'Vote Freedom First President's' US Attorney have been intentionally withholding evidence from the defense and the judge in order to destroy a man's life."

"I've had access to the information that they begged off on introducing the document under the fraudulent tax excuse for some time now, but have not been able to share it with you prior to this. And tell me the judge shouldn't have insisted on seeing the document--even if it meant blacking out identifiable information. If sanctions aren't applied here it will be beyond me what excuse will be given." ...

"Lou Dobbs' spirited outrage certainly is refreshing, and the most relevant question he asked:"

"Where in the world is the NRA?...Why in the world would anybody be waiting here?"

I did find last evenings broadcast surprising to say the least. Here is a link to part 3 & 4, along with some of the submitted paperwork. I would hope everyone who hasnt already would drop Lou Dobbs a note and thank him for what can only be described as unwavering and steadfast support for gun owners the likes of which I have never seen on a major network. It looks like we now have one singular friend in the mainstream media not afraid to stand up on our rights and take a rock solid stand, not just give it passing lip service. Dont let that support go unnoticed.

"This week, constituents of several Illinois State House members began receiving postcard mailers and phone calls to call attention to their state legislators vote against common sense gun laws, a step in a broader strategy to hold Illinois legislators accountable for the votes they take on gun violence prevention issues."

"The effort is aimed at legislators who voted against legislation sponsored by Rep. Harry Osterman to require extending Brady background checks to all handgun purchasers. The bill (HB 758) failed on a House vote that ended in a 58-58 tie. The legislation needed 60 votes to pass." ...

"The attorney pointed to a recent state Court of Appeals ruling which threw out a local ban in Coweta County."

"Attorneys for the City of Atlanta argued that the ban on firearms in public parks was in the interests of public safety."

"It's alright to pack in Atlanta public parks now."

"Superior Court Judge Doris Downs Friday struck down an Atlanta law prohibiting carrying guns in public parks."

"'She said the state law is clear,' said John Monroe, the lawyer representing GeorgiaCarry.org, a Second Amendment advocacy group. 'The city can't go out and arrest somebody for carrying a gun in a city park any more or, if it does, it is in contempt of court.'"

"State law says only the Legislature can regulate where guns are permitted although city and counties had enacted firearm regulations. ... the group sued seven Fulton County cities for banning firearms in parks after winning a victory at the Georgia Court of Appeals to overturn a Coweta County ban. ..." ...

"The patrons at Champps, an upscale restaurant and bar chain, were eating ribs and drinking beer on a recent Saturday when customer Bruce Jackson stood up and made an announcement: He was armed, and so were dozens of other patrons."

"The armed customers stood up in unison, showing off holstered pistols and revolvers. Jackson said a word or two about the rights of gun owners to carry firearms in Virginia, then thanked everyone for their attention and sat down."

"And the diners returned to their burgers and Budweisers."

"The Virginia Citizens Defense League organized the dinner at Champps to prove a point: that the presence of armed customers in northern Virginia restaurants would elicit little more than shrugs." ...

FULL TEXT BELOW:

The state House has passed a plan from Rep. Jeff Mayes, D-Bay City, to change restrictions for obtaining a concealed weapons permit in Michigan.

Currently, an applicant must have been a resident of Michigan for six months, which is troublesome for active-duty military, Mayes said in a news release.

His plan would clarify the definition of a qualified applicant to include military personnel that would not otherwise be prohibited from obtaining a license.

The Michigan State Police, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Rifle Association support the legislation, Mayes said.

"Days after a Philadelphia police sergeant was killed with a semi-automatic rifle, Mayor Nutter and Gov. Rendell called upon Congress to enact a new federal assault-weapons ban that would remove such weapons from the streets."

"'The time has come for politicians to decide,' said Rendell at the City Hall news conference attended by top police brass and state elected officials. 'You have to decide whether you're on their side - the men and women who wear blue - or whether you're on the side of the gun lobby.'" ...

"'Those weapons have one goal and use in mind,' Nutter said. 'They are to destroy human beings and do it as quickly and as dangerously and in as devastating a fashion as possible. ...'" ...

"Bill Johnson, D-Peru, who along with Bob Greenwalt, D-Sandwich, abstained on the vote, said the Second Amendment of the Constitution cited in the resolution as the source of gun ownership authority was meant to apply to militias."

"Compelled by the murder of Philadelphia police Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter on Thursday called on Pennsylvania's congressional delegation to re-enact a federal assault weapons ban."

"'This issue is quite simple,' Rendell said in a statement. 'Either (you) support law enforcement or you don't. And if you don't, you'll have to tell the widow of the next victim or the young child of the next victim why you didn't vote to protect them.'"

"Mayor Michael Nutter said last weekend's 'assassination' of Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski, who was shot at least five times with a Chinese SKS rifle while responding to a bank robbery, was 'truly shocking.'" ...

"Lawyers for Mayor Bloomberg are asking a judge to ban any reference to the Second Amendment during the upcoming trial of a gun shop owner who was sued by the city. While trials are often tightly choreographed ... a gag order on a section of the Constitution would be an oddity."

"Even now the official department line on the issue is that standards have not been lowered. 'There's no lowering of standards,' says LAPD Captain Jeffrey Greer, the commanding officer over the SWAT team. 'If anything, the standards have been enhanced. We're raising the bar ...' This assertion was laughable even when Greer made it, but it is more so now given the revelation that the first woman selected for SWAT school under the so-called enhanced standards accidentally fired her submachine gun on the practice range last month, a violation of weapons-safety protocols that would have disqualified any candidate, male or female, under the previous selection system."

"KUDOS TO THE firearms debate at Bridgewater College ... This debate was excellent, informative, thought provoking."

"I publicly thank the college for bringing two such outstanding individuals in their fields to our community. The auditorium was filled largely with students. Prior to the debate, my companion and I expected the audience to be strongly biased against Second Amendment rights, handgun ownership, concealed-carry permits, etc."

"At no time could we detect any bias, either pro or con, by the level of courteous, enthusiastic applause given to both gentlemen after each of their statements and responses. The questions posed by the students afterwards were very insightful and had been carefully researched." ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin Historical Review of Pennsylvania.
