"Over millennia Jews have been attacked by Egyptians, Amalekites, Philistines and Haman, who arranged a single day in which they all were to be killed and got the kings blessing for his plan. They have been assaulted, accosted and oppressed by the Greeks, Romans, Persians, Byzantines and Ottomans. Their annihilation has been orchestrated by Germany and the USSR."

"But they survive and thrive, and Rabbi Dovid Bendory, rabbinic director of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, and Alan Korwin of GunLaws.com explain in a new report that its because some portion of the group, even if small, has been willing to resist force with force." ...

"Its no secret that one of the largest blocs of people pressing for so-called 'gun control' is the culturally (aka not-so-religious) American Jewish community. This confounds many observers who would expect that Jews, with such a stunning history of oppression and murder by humanitys villains, would cling tenaciously to personal firearms and the ability to protect themselves as the Hebrew Scriptures instruct."

"In reaction to the Holocaust, American Jews adopted the phrase 'Never Again!' If actions mean anything, they dont believe it. ... How do Jews expect to put teeth behind the words 'Never Again!' if not with the ability to apply and project personal force when righteous and necessary for survival?" ...

Tech Industries has been working on improving one of the most fundamental parts of the small arm, the gun barrel. Limited by stainless and chrome-moly steels, Teludyne has been developing a way to quickly manufacture composite barrels that deliver accuracy that goes far beyond what ... other processes provide."

"The Teludyne StraightJacket barrel system is not the first of its kind and it's not entirely original. None of that makes it any less impressive. The StraightJacket barrel system takes a standard rifle barrel and sheathes it in a large diameter outer sleeve. The sleeve is considerably larger than the outer diameter of the barrel, so it must be filled. Teludyne fills the gap with a mystery proprietary media[sic]." ...

"Whether its a Winchester, Marlin, Henry, Mossberg, or some other brand, lever action guns seem to appeal to just about everyone. Maybe it has something to do with Americas fascination with old Western films, or maybe its because they really are versatile guns great for hunting most game, plinking, or even self-defense. Or maybe its just because theyre coolthats my reason at least. But out of all of the brands and styles, which one is the best? Personally, I say the Marlin 336 takes the cake." ...

"I have no practical reason for purchasing a Smith and Wesson 500. This revolver is in reality a much too powerful a gun for me to shoot comfortably, the ammunition costs more than I can afford to shoot it with any regularity (about $3 a round), and last I checked, Illinois doesnt have any elephants to hunt. "The Pennsylvania state police will be updating their instant check system later in the month. Since the Keystone State bypasses the FBIs NICS system and instead runs their own state-sponsored jobs program background check operation, that means Pennsy residents wont be able to buy guns for about 60 hours. What could possibly go wrong? ... Even the most seemingly minor upgrade can develop into a major cluster. That 60 hours in Pennsylvania could very well drag on. And on. But what the hell. Its only peoples constitutional rights that are affected. Right? Enter the bowtied gun rights wunderkind Alan Gottlieb via CCRKBA whos, well, not happy. At all. His rant after the jump . . ." ...

"California police officers in Orange County got a new toy to play with: a Lenco armored BearCat response and rescue vehicle."

"This massive 19,000 lb, $268,000 tank of a vehicle can withstand bullets from AR-15 or M-16 fire, and it can handle .50-caliber bullets fired repeatedly to the exact same spot. Bad guys trying to stop a BearCat may as well throw bullets at the vehicle by hand for all the good it will do." ...

"If the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife went looking for support from hunters today, theyd have a hard time finding much brotherhood on the Hunting Washington forum, where an informal poll shows more than 90 percent of the respondents have no confidence in the agency leadership or the Fish & Wildlife Commission."

"Sometimes unscientific polls like this tell a story far better than scientific surveys, because hunters are also weighing in with their observations, and some of the remarks are brutal." ...

... "In spots around the Wenas ... one will find an abundance of 'ghost camps' that hold histories of hunting seasons long past. In other spots one will find the trash left by certain slob shooters including bullet-riddled kitchen appliances, blown-to-pieces computers or televisions, tin cans, broken bottles and other trash hauled out for use as targets and left by people too lazy to clean up their messes."

"This is not a new subject for this column. In the past, the Examiner has detailed reasons behind the closure of shooting along the I-90 corridor in east King County, and the Snoqualmie Middle Fork Valley ... The problem has also gotten the attention of Jim Shepherd's The Outdoor Wire, which picked up the WDFW announcement." ...
