The .22 Long was introduced in 1871, and was expected to be a natural progression from the .22 CB to the .22 Short and beyond. To improve the performance of the .22 Short, the case was lengthened and the powder charge boosted, while retaining the 29 grain bullet of the .22 Short. It is currently the second oldest surviving rimfire cartridge on the market.

A worldwide pandemic, political turmoil and mass shootings are usually not good for most businesses, but for firearms manufacturers like Sturm, Ruger & Co. they have meant increased revenue and profits. The company reported a nearly 50% boost in revenue, to $184.4 million, for the first quarter of 2021 over the same quarter in 2020. What do you do if you want a tight-to-the-body OWB for concealed carry but dont like how high most OWBs ride on your belt? Maybe the height bothers you because its just a little too close to your elbow on the draw. In that case, the CrossBreed DropSlide OWB Holster might be a good choice.

A long time ago, I was privileged to handle an original Colt Paterson revolver. As you may recall, this was the first American revolvera legendary arm that saw wide use in frontier conflict. The Paterson principle of multiple chambers rotating into alignment with the barrel proved itself over and over again. The original maker of this arm is still making guns on this principle. When I examined that much used sample, I was sternly advised not to work the action. This was in deference to the aging lockwork of a century-old handgun. I recall that there was a tiny little front sight, but no visible rear sight. Colt revolvers at the time used a slight notch on the tip of a (cocked) hammer for a rear sight.

As firearms continue to sell at record pace, manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand for existing models. Nonetheless, innovation continues. We are seeing introductions of MRDS-ready, striker-fired, polymer-frame pistols, including higher-capacity micro-9s. Also hitting the market with some frequency are large-format pistols in both rifle and pistol calibers. And, of course, super-premium 1911s continue to be unveiled at the aspirational end of the market.

One of the founding antithesis to principles of overbearing autocratic expansive government revolves around the concept of diversion while attempting to dissolve a right or codify a behavior, combined with the brute force purity of repetition. At least the Biden administration was not cryptic in threatening broad and strict gun control measures, sprinkled with specified obscure limitations in sowing debilitating ideas threatening to propagate into legal precedent.

Luxembourg is not a country that is known for gun-making, nor is it typically associated with the political intrigues of decolonizing the African continent. Nevertheless, in 1957, gun-making drew Luxembourg into the middle of a diplomatic confrontation with both France and Belgium regarding the war in Algeria. It all started in January 1952 when 49-year-old businessman Nicolas Scholer established a company named Socit Luxembourgeoise d'Armes (abbreviated as SOLA) with administrative offices in the city of Vianden, and a factory in the city of Ettelbruck.

With bills rapidly advancing through the legislature, the Colorado House will likely consider two anti-gun measures this week and your State Representative needs to hear from you! House Bill 1298 allows for the indefinite delay of firearm transfers. Current state law allows licensed firearm dealers to proceed with firearm transfers if the Colorado Bureau of Investigation does not make a determination within three days, for what is supposed to be an instant background check done by computers.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
You must understand, therefore, that there are two ways of fighting: by law or by force. The first way is natural to men, and the second to beasts. But as the first way often proves inadequate one must have recourse to the second. Niccolo Machiavelli in "The Prince."
