The bills advance followed a marathon markup session led by Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar that featured dozens of amendments offered by both Democrats and Republicans. Unlike most legislative markups, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also testified for and against the bill, respectively. |

Shotgun slugs add an entire new dimension and level of capability to the already impressive list of uses for a shotgun. While a shotgun with a traditional shotshell may be the best for upland game hunting, a #6 shot would hardly be effective for hunting feral hogs. So with the extended range and incredible power, the shotgun slug provides its user with the ability to hunt medium and large game with ranges in excess of 100 yards out of a smoothbore barrel. |

Whats the best defensive handgun? Theres no easy answer to this question, but if you had to shoot to save your life while being attacked, youd probably like to have the biggest handgun you could find. I know I would. Of course, there are some problems with big and powerful handguns for defensive carry: Theyre hard to carry and hard to conceal, and they recoil with enough force to twist your own wrists into submission. Theres a reason nearly every .44 Magnum revolver thats for sale on the used market comes with half a box of ammunition. |

A federal bankruptcy judge dismissed the NRAs bankruptcy chapter 11 filing on Tuesday, halting the gun rights organizations attempt to move from New York to Texas. On August 6, 2020, Breitbart News reported that New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a suit in which she sought to dissolve the NRA. Her suit, filed in state court in Manhattan after an 18-month investigation, cited allegations that high-ranking NRA executives diverted millions of dollars for lavish personal trips, no-show contracts for associates, and other questionable expenditures. |

Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution Tuesday to make Charlotte County a Second Amendment sanctuary. This is simply pointing out the support of the Constitution the United States of America, Commissioner Chair Bill Truex said. Cynthia Zarzano defends the U.S. Constitution any time someone shares views against the Second Amendment. She has fond memories of her childhood in Florida, including when her father taught her how to use and respect a gun at a young age.

Writing good history is about honest interpretation. Historical events can be muddled and complicated, even contradictory, as people are involved and people can have competing interests and emotional motivations that are hard to fathom through time. People involved in the events also might have had an interest in hiding the true storythis isnt the only age thats rife with media members and politicians who are attempting to shape narratives.

Right now, Louisiana is one of 31 states that require a permit in order to conceal carry a firearm but a house bill could soon change that. House Bill 596 would allow Louisiana citizens 21 and older to conceal carry a handgun without a permit. Supporters of this bill, including its author Bryan Fontenot believe requiring a permit infringes upon citizens second amendment rights.

Editor's Note: The reporter obviously lacks basic critical thinking skills in distinguishing between homemade guns and the 3-D gun debate, but he sure is adept at parroting the rhetoric of gun control activists.
Assemblywoman Sandra Jauregui didnt hold back when describing the importance of banning ghost guns in Nevada. Ghost guns are growing in popularity because they circumvent background checks and they are untraceable, said Jauregui, who sponsored a bill at the Nevada Legislature that would ban these homemade guns.

The security measures, as well as a proposal to implement an X-ray machine to scan entrants belongings, have been met with pushback from community members concerned about their effects on patients - especially people of color - with a petition and two community leaders issuing a public statement demanding that the facility end use of armed police at the site. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them. Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States; With a Preliminary Review of the Constitutional History of the Colonies and States before the Adoption of the Constitution [Boston, 1833]. |
