"On Wednesday the Bellevue-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) exploded the group's message, 'Guns Save Lives,' on the famous electronic billboard in Times Square."
"Alan Gottlieb, Bellevue resident, chairman of the CCRKBA and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), also of Bellevue, said this has been a busy week for the two groups that claims 650,000 members, 'We filed a lawsuit in Virginia, started the billboard and were filing a lawsuit in Illinois.'" ... |

"If one were to go to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence website one would find that they still "Applaud" the Nordyke v King decision. A decision which has dealt the biggest blow to California gun control laws in the state's history. Not only California, but every state within the jurisdiction of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals; including the anti-gun state of Hawaii." ... |

"This is in response to W. Smith's May 8 letter, which commented on my May 4th letter."
"This number of deaths by guns of about 30,000 per year touted by gun-controllers, like Smith, seems to be about right. However, a deeper look reveals the following:"
"1). Suicides account for about 48 percent of deaths by guns. They need to be taken off the figures, as suicide will take place with or without a gun. (Sweden has higher suicide rate than U.S., but guns hardly used there for that) So now we are down to 16,300 deaths per year to deal with." ... |

"Roy Rogers had his Trigger. So do you. The cowboys horse was probably a lot more controllable (and less temperamental) than the finger you use to fire your gun. As my instructors at the MAG 80 training program taught me, trigger control accounts for 90 percent of shooters accuracy problems. And so Massad Ayoobs stand-in Marty Hayes started our week with some focus drills emphasizing the importance of trigger reset and follow through. First task: see who could take the most time to press, and then release, their trigger. Youd be amazed at how much concentration learning how not to concentrate on your finger requires. And then . . ." ... |

"My wife cant stand bluegrass. Sam associates banjos and fiddles with inbreeding and sodomy. Shes from Africa; what does she know? Bluegrass is blues for white people. And God knows we white folks need our blues music, what with tornados making a beeline for our trailer parks and the after-effects of too many highballs. The 1911 is our gun. Sorry, but there it is. Gangbangers have their Hi-Points. Mexican drug lords have their FiveseveNs. The 1911 is caucasian badass: Elvis meets John Wayne with a hillbilly holler. While the designs 100th anniversary has inspired an entire arsenal of new 1911s, Rugers first foray into the field is the only one that can justifiably claim to be all-American. How whitebreadI mean great is that?" ... |

At one time it carried a 'saws-all' type electric tool. It's very rugged yet light, with good hinges and clasps. This particular plastic case is 24 inches long, and it can contain a 31" overall carbine, broken into upper and lower and nested. Plus a few magazines." ... |

"SIG SAUER makes 1911s. Ruger makes 1911s. Well, now they do. As TTAG's review pointed out, the Ruger SR1911's Unique Selling Point is its all-American parts and stateside manufacture. Methinks someone at SIG is not happy ceding domesticity to the Arizona mob. The press release for SIGs 1911 TACPAC and new options on the 1911-22 pistols claims that the guns 'combine the American ingenuity of the venerable 1911 platform with SIG SAUER refinements that enhance the pistols accuracy while still maintaining superior reliability.' Ingenious? A hundred years ago, sure. Superior reliability? Compared to what? Besides . . ." ... |

"When Ohio's concealed-carry law was enacted in 2004, opponents warned it would lead to Wild West shootouts on the streets. They were wrong. The legislation licensing qualified Ohioans to carry concealed firearms, forged through years of tough debate, struck a sometimes awkward yet reasonable balance between liberty and safety."
"But now, Ohio lawmakers, with signals of support from Gov. John Kasich, are poised to upset that balance with a measure to allow concealed weapons in any establishment, whether a sports stadium, five-star restaurant or corner saloon, that serves alcohol - spiking an already volatile substance with added potential danger." ... |
