New York Attorney General Letitia James has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of a rifle accessory used in a 2022 Buffalo shooting, where a gunman killed 10 people in a racially motivated attack. In the lawsuit, filed in New York Supreme Court, James argues that the device Payton Gendron used to modify his AR-15 rifle in the Buffalo grocery store massacre turned it into "an even deadlier" weapon. |

If you've seen my holster collection, you may think I have a problem. I promise I don't. I'm just a woman who goes out of her way to carry on-body every time I leave the house. And unlike my husband, who only wears jeans and T-shirts, my outfits run the gamut. Jeans, joggers, leggings, skirts, dresses they all seem to require a different type of holster.

Following a close vote early Tuesday in the Minnesota House of Representatives, a bill including "universal background checks" and "red flag" gun confiscation is headed to Gov. Tim Walz. The measure, a mammoth 522-page omnibus crime bill, HF2890/SF2909, was approved by the state's Democrat-controlled House in a 69-63 final roll call. This followed an even closer 34-33 party-line vote by the state Senate on May 12.

Vice News, whose parent company Vice has filed for bankruptcy protection, published a story that links the Kyle Rittenhouse self-defense shooting with the Daniel Perry case and how conservatives have praised the men as heroes for their actions. Calling multiple arrestee Jordan Neely as an "unhoused Black man," Vice News' report states, "Just as they did with Kyle Rittenhouse, the right is lionizing Daniel Penny, whos charged with manslaughter, hailing him as a 'hero' and 'a good samaritan.'" |

Since 1968, the federal government has barred firearm dealers from selling handguns to anyone younger than 21. Last week, a federal judge in Virginia said that rule, which applies to federally licensed dealers but does not cover private sales, is unconstitutional because "prohibitions on the rights of 18-to-20-year-olds to purchase handguns are not supported by our Nation's history and tradition."

Last week, H.3594 was recalled from the Senate Judiciary Committee with a 24-18 vote. This means that both S.109 and H.3594 are now ready for a floor vote. As you may remember, the General Assembly was scheduled to adjourn on Thursday. However, Governor McMaster has called the legislature back to Columbia, starting this Tuesday, for additional time to address various matters, including "felon in possession" reform. It's important to note that this reform is included in both S.109 and H.3594. |

The Super Shock Tip (SST) is a bullet style created by Hornady and is used in a variety of their rifle rounds. All of the most common centerfire calibers, from .243 to .308, are offered with the SST bullet.
This particular bullet is quite popular among reloaders because its high-quality polymer tipped and has an expanding bullet that is extremely versatile. It can be used for everything from backyard shooting to varmint control to big-game hunting and the boat-tail design makes it relatively easy for reloaders to work with. |

The hollow soft point (HSP) is an uncommon bullet type due to advances in bullet technology replacing it among major ammo distributors. It can still be found, however, and the best way to describe it is between a hollow point and a soft point bullet. While most hollow points are either fully jacketed or not at all, these are almost always semi-jacketed. Semi-jacketed means the bullet has a harder metal on the lower half of the bullet, coating the lead. What this does is allow expansion, but the expansion is rather limited when compared to a typical hollow point. |

The fiery passions that fuel certain gun debates can burn over the course of several generations. The 9 mm vs. Anything That Starts With 4 battle is a prime example, having taken more than a century for each side to retreat to their respective corners, frowny faces and all. Other arguments, such as the best expanding bullet or long-range cartridge, will continue to morph as new capabilities replace old hamstrings. |
