"Hundreds of conventioneers stayed at the Charlotte Marriott City Center, where Grass Roots North Carolina also held its 'Gala for Gun Rights' on Friday night, hosting a number of national gun rights defenders. GRNC selected the hotel because it did not post against firearms. Inspections of the main entrance were made both the day prior and the day of the event. "New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's 'relaxation' of gun regulations to make them more streamlined in the city is 'a lot of flash and very little substance,' the Second Amendment Foundation said today, after carefully studying the new guidelines."

Gottlieb, 'that Mayor Bloomberg is trying to make it appear that his gun regulations are more user-friendly to deflect a potential lawsuit once the Supreme Court rules on our legal action to overturn the handgun ban in Chicago. The reason was that he'd been able to round up 500 rounds of .40 S&W, but shooting it up would leave his practice ammo supply severely depleted. I told him that part of what he was learning with me was rapid fire recoil control, and hed do better to shoot with the 'real deal.' Shahzad's name had appeared on a no-fly list in time to prevent him from escaping, yet in the months before the failed bombing attempt he was able to walk into a gun shop and legally purchase the weapon. "Events leading to the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old girl by a Detroit officer may have been videotaped by a crew for a reality TV series that accompanied police as they searched the victim's home for a murder suspect." ...
"Police have said officers threw a flash grenade through the first-floor window of the two-family home early Sunday and that an officer's gun discharged during a struggle or after a collision with the girl's grandmother. ..."
"Fieger, however, said the official account was full of 'utter fabrications.' He said he has seen a video showing police throwing the grenade and then shooting into the home from the porch. He would not say if the footage came from the A&E crew." ... -------

"Victoria Healey aims a shotgun at an orange clay target flying through the night sky, pulls the trigger and shatters it. A round of applause erupts. Healey smiles."
"The Phoenix resident attended Ben Avery Desert Roses, a program that introduces women to shotgun-shooting sports at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, 4044 W. Black Canyon Blvd. The free 2 1/2-hour class, which meets the first and third Thursdays of the month, aims to get women comfortable around firearms by taking lessons about weapons that include handling and shooting clays."
"'It was awesome,' said Healey, who shot a larger weapon for the first time in front of an expert earlier this month. 'It's always fun to try something new.'" ... |

"One of the keys to securing a Right to Carry law in the state of Illinois is informing and educating the public about the Right to Carry and how successful it is in the 49 states where concealed or open carry is recognized as lawful."
"IllinoisCarry working together with the Illinois State Rifle Association and Second Amendment Sisters is leading that effort by sponsoring town hall meetings all over the state."
"Many residents of Illinois do not know Illinois is the last and only state which prohibits carrying a firearm for personal protection. With the media bias against the Right to Carry we cannot rely on the mainstream media to get the word out we must take the message to the public." ... |

"Theres a good reason the Founding Fathers authored the documents that some of us still hold dear. There's also a good reason that the Second Amendment came immediately after the First." ...
"When something bad has, or is about to happen to you or your family you have the right to protect yourself and them. This is your responsibility, not the police or anyone else. If you are killed, the police were not liable for your safety unless they were there and did something wrong. They do the best they can but they obviously cant be everywhere."
"Theres a good reason that few crimes are committed in the presence of police. Can you guess what that is? If you're slow it's because they carry guns." .. |

"Sunday, May 18, 1980 found a short crew working in the newsroom at the now-defunct Fishing & Hunting News on Eastlake Avenue in Seattle."
"I was working the Washington edition at the time, and Roland Stephan was on the copy desk. It was about 8:45 a.m. several minutes after the blast that Roland came into the newsroom almost shouting, 'Dave. Dave! Mount St. Helens has exploded!'" ...
"... A month before that fateful blast that killed 57 people, F&H News under my byline essentially predicted what happened by portraying a 'worst case scenario' that would kill thousands of deer, elk, black bears and other game animals, and destroy the fisheries in the Toutle and lower Cowlitz rivers. ..." ... |

A motorist who went to the aid of a man lying in the road was robbed of his car keys by two other men who were lying in wait, police said.
The victim was driving down Arleston Lane in Sinfin late on Monday night when he was flagged down by two men while a third was lying on the ground.
The driver went to assist but then had his car keys stolen at gunpoint. He was left shaken but unhurt, police said.
The three men then ran off towards a nearby school and the Moorfields area.
The offenders have been described as black and in their late teens.
