Democrats are pushing legislation which bans online ammunition sales that do not include a face-to-face exchange of IDs and which requires ammunition dealers to report any purchases of more than 1,000 rounds.

The legislationtitled the Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act of 2015is sponsored by Representative Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ-12th Dist.) and co-sponsored by Representative Rep. Frank Pallone Jr (D-NJ-6th Dist.), according to The Hill.

On May 12, 2015, Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-N.J.) introduced H.R. 2283 or the Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act of 2015.

According to a report from The Hill (full text of the legislation has not been received by the Government Publishing Office at press time) the bill would require that ammunition sellers be federally licensed, that online ammunition purchasers show a photo identification in-person at an authorized dealer in order to take receipt of their orders, and that any purchases of more than 1000 rounds made within five consecutive days be reported to the Attorney General.

Industry groups are working with United Parcel Service to reverse its recent decision to no longer ship registered Title II suppressors, even in cases where the items are going from dealer to dealer.

UPS, commonly also referred to as Brown, is the worlds largest package delivery service and has its headquarters in Georgia. However, among its more than 15 million packages delivered each day will no longer be suppressors, apparently over concerns of compliance issues.

Scullin, Jr., issued a significant legal decision granting their motion for a preliminary injunction.

The Texas Legislature, while opening a door to adequately fund the Texas state park system via appropriation of the sporting-goods sales tax, is quietly closing a window so that less tax revenue actually flows into the pool.

On May 12, the House voted to approve HB 849, which would create two state sales tax-free weekends annually for the purchasers of firearms and hunting supplies.

As the 84th session of the Legislature winds down, our Republican leadership cant throw enough love at our needy gun lobby.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick was cautious at first, but now the floodgates are opening. Open carry, concealed carry and campus carry wasnt enough love, though. Concealed-handgun licensees needed protection from police asking to see their license, so a House bill was going to take care of that.

Earlier today, the United States Supreme Court relisted the Jackson v. San Francisco petition for certiorari (request for review) for the fourth consecutive time. The Jackson petition is now scheduled for the Courts May 21 conference.

Your Firearms Policy Coalition filed an amicus brief in support of the Jackson petitioners with the Supreme Court in January, urging it to reverse a wrongly-decided Ninth Circuit opinion that upheld a City of San Francisco gun control law.

While the probability of us encountering a situation where we need to get our gun out WHILE were carrying our children is extremely low, it is worth thinking about how our gun handling would need to change and what we should practice. Since my son is too young to follow directions to run and hide and cant understand how to use code words to enact a plan, I have to have repetitions of gun manipulations while handling him. This post isnt about tactics, but just the mechanics of getting a gun into play while toting a small child. Ill lay out several practice methods and some props that will help you get more proficient.

On Monday, a unanimous Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruled that felons denied the right to keep and bear arms do maintain the right to sell those guns after their conviction.

According to the AP, the matter came to the SCOTUSs attention via former U.S. Border Patrol agent Tony Henderson, who turned his gun collection over to the FBI during an marijuana investigation. Henderson did this under the presumption that he would be able to sell the guns even if convicted.

Will we soon see a new sort of grade inflation, Gullion asks, with students earning a 4.0 GPA with their firepower rather than brainpower?

We can answer that question with a simple, No. But for those paying for their kids college educations, consider that this is what passes for academic discussion of firearms policy in todays institutions of higher learning. In this regard, it joins a tradition that includes calling for the death of NRA members children, insisting that campus carry is tantamount to blaming women for their own victimization, threatening to cancel class over the lawful carrying of guns, and reporting a student to police for giving an in-class speech on campus carry.

In a lawsuit filed on May 6, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) complained that the Department of Defense [sic] violated the First Amendment in demanding that CAD (computer-aided design) files containing instructions to 3-D printers to print lower receivers of firearms be pre-approved. SAF is seeking a court declaration that Defendants prepublication approval requirements for privately generated unclassified information, on its face violates the First Second [and] Fifth Amendments to the United States Constitution.

U.S. District Judge Frederick J. Scullin Jr. placed a hold on Washington D.C.s mandate that firearm owners must have a good reason to get a concealed carry permit in the District. The judge said the requirement took away citizens Second Amendment rights.

Judge Scullin granted a preliminary injunction as a result of a lawsuit brought forth by three gun owners who sought to overturn the bureaucratic D.C. gun law claiming the regulations surrounding it make it impossible for the majority of law abiding individuals to qualify for a D.C. firearms permit.

And even with only having his concealed carry law for a little over a year, Manka says it makes a difference whether you know the rules or not.

Americans enjoy a natural right to self-defense preserved by the Second Amendment. This federally guaranteed liberty should not be forfeited when state lines are crossed.

Nine people are dead in Waco, Texas as the result of a wild confrontation Sunday between at least three and possibly five biker gangs, and already the looney left is blaming the Second Amendment and the National Rifle Association in the reader comments section of the Seattle Times.

While the Seattle Times updated its story this morning, the reactions can be found to the initial report posted on-line yesterday. In there, one will find this witty remark from tomday09: Ah yes, another wet dream for the NRA and the Grand Old Prostitutes. Best thing to do is castrate all they have captured.

As passed by the D.C. Council, the Districts new carry legislation remains among the strictest in the nation, requiring applicants to state good reason to carry a weapon in order to obtain a permit from police, matching laws in Maryland, New Jersey and New York.

However, in a 23-page opinion, U.S. District Judge Frederick J. Scullin Jr. ruled that condition known as the good reason/proper reason requirement still impinges on Plaintiffs Second Amendment right to bear arms, because it fails to target dangerous people or specifically how or where individuals carry weapons.

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, charged with enforcing the nation's gun laws and regulating the firearms industry, has been so hobbled by high-profile operational failures, internal dysfunction and external limits on its authority that the agency should be eliminated and merged into the FBI, a new report concludes.

The report, by the left-leaning Center for American Progress, comes in the wake of a bill by U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) that seeks to dissolve the agency and move its law enforcement and gun industry regulatory functions into the FBI and other agencies.

It used to be that when I thought of Weatherby, I pictured the beautifully crafted high-end rifles and shotguns that graced the gun racks of the sporting goods store I worked at in my college years. I wasn't the only gun guy behind the counter who would shoulder one Weatherby or another and take aim at the taxidermied animals high on the walls when customers werent around.

Harwin says theres so much confusion over Amendment 5, that they had a strange phone call last week.

We had a convicted drug dealer call the Circuit Attorneys office and ask whether he is now able to carry a gun legally under Amendment 5, and was really hoping that he was now able to carry a gun. We informed him that we will continue to press charges on any felon who carries a gun in the City of St. Louis, Harwin explains.

Three gun cases have already been dismissed by judges in the city because of Amendment 5. Those cases are under appeal by the Circuit Attorney before the Missouri Supreme Court.
