"Your help is needed immediately to STOP two legislative bills of serious threat to the lawful manufacturers and sellers of firearms and ammunition. Senate Bill 682 and Assembly Bill 496 were introduced in this legislative session as a result of last year's California State Supreme Court dismissal of a lawsuit against a firearms manufacturer (Merrill v. Navegar). This lawsuit dismissal was, of course, a just victory for the firearms industry and therefore infuriated the anti-gun crowd."

"Ask the California Supreme Court, which in a 4-3 decision earlier this month ruled that Nike's public statements amount to "commercial speech" and thus are undeserving of the same protections afforded its critics. Even the ACLU, hardly a flunky for business, is appalled."

Nowhere are those two principles more clearly at work than in the delay, debate, deliberation and duplicity over the issue of whether to allow airline pilots the right to choose to carry firearms in the cockpit to deter and defeat terrorism in our nation's skies."
