Does a gun in your home make you safer, or does it put your family in greater danger? Some of the news articles about going armed are extremely misleading, so Id ask you to read very carefully.

Here are some obvious questions that measure your possible risk and your possible reward for owning a gun.

At the same time, dispatchers got another call about a shooting at the same residence off U.S. Highway 171 in Mansfield.

The man has been identified as 36-year-old Kent Gage.

The initial investigation revealed that the shooting was believed to be self-defense, the Sheriffs Office reports. However, this is an ongoing investigation.

Authorities have not said why they think Gages death possibly was self-defense.

On May 23rd, the New Hampshire state Senate will be holding floor votes for a number of bills that would impact our Second Amendment rights, including legislation to criminalize the private transfer of firearms, impose waiting periods, increase arbitrary boundaries where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless, and take away the constitutional rights of individuals without due process.

The Louisiana House on Tuesday passed proposals that would expand the states reach over local regulation of gun control and boost existing stand your ground laws, indicating a momentum of gun legislation in the state.

The House voted 68-30 to support a bill by Rep. Blake Miguez, R-Erath, which would eliminate the authority of local governments to prohibit the possession of firearms in certain businesses and public buildings.

On the House floor, Miguez contended that the current law is a patchwork of regulations (that) confuse those trying to follow the law. Gun law should be consistent around the state, he added.

Protecting myself and those I care about is what first interested me about firearms. Given my goal of being more safe in more situations, itd be ironicand even stupidof me to not take gun safety incredibly seriously.

Regardless of what led to your involvement with firearms, whether you came from a similar place as me or not, following gun safety rules is a necessity.

In this guide, Ill be covering the 4 universal gun safety rule and explaining the importance of each. Ill then go on to add a number of additional rules Ive picked up in my life that I think everyone else can benefit from.

Why NRA Is Raising A Red Flag Over "Red Flag" Laws

In Colorado, nearly half of the states sheriffs departments are in an uproar against a new red flag law that would require law enforcement officers to confiscate the firearms of any Coloradan who has been deemed unsuitable to retain his Second Amendment rights, and that would do so in a way that violates the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. One sheriff, in rural Weld County, is so concerned by the idea that he has vowed to go to prison rather than administer it. These warnings should serve as a clear indication that something has gone wrong with the way in which legislators have come to think about individual rights. In the Centennial State, the canaries are sending warnings up the shaft.

In the olden days when I was in high school a large amount of kids had their guns in their vehicles. Not one shooting. If anyone thinks we will be safer by not allowing law-abiding citizens to be armed we need not look any further then Venezuela and what happened in a decade. Jimmy Biggs

Gun rights groups are using New York City restrictions that may be repealed as a rallying cry to press the Supreme Court for a major expansion of its Second Amendment precedents.

The effort is based on the hope that the court's new, five-member conservative majority will be more sympathetic to gun rights, in much the same way that anti-abortion groups are hoping for a high court crackdown on reproductive rights.

A federal judge in Tacoma has denied a motion to dismiss a federal lawsuit filed earlier this year that challenges provisions of a restrictive gun control initiative adopted last fall by Washington State voters, providing an important win for gun rights activists in the Pacific Northwest.

The lawsuit challenges Initiative 1639, a billionaire-backed measure that strips young adults of their Second Amendment rights to purchase semiautomatic rifles of any kind unless they are over age 21. The initiative also places training requirements on buyers of any semi-auto rifle, requires so-called safe storage, registration, so-called enhanced background checks and other mandates.

I ask this question now, after nearly 40,000 Americans died from firearms last year, as suicide by firearm ranks as the second leading cause of death for young people in New Hampshire, after more Americans have died in this country by firearms since 1968 than have died in all the wars from the Revolutionary War to Iraq and Afghanistan put together. Is it enough, and will we finally do something about it?

Across the aisle were others in yellow shirts, many bearing the language of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and promoting the Rhode Island Second Amendment Coalition.

In the end, after hearing from a litany of speakers and engaging in a discussion that at times turned partisan, the City Councils Ordinance Committee on May 16 rejected a resolution urging state lawmakers to approve a package of gun-control measures during the current session.

Today is no different. A recent burst of media claims the NRA is vulnerable, financially unstable, and weakened in its fight to defend the Second Amendment. Obviously intent on not letting the facts get in the way of a good story, most reports offer a distorted and inaccurate view of the NRA.

As officers and past presidents of the NRA, we write today to set the record straight.

On Wednesday, House Democrats held a Statehouse news conference proposing what they said were commonsense gun-control laws.

They are:

- Requiring gun owners with children at home to store their firearms safely and securely in a tamper-proof storage device

- Expanding background checks to be required before any gun purchase

- Creating a red flag law, under which law enforcement could temporarily confiscate guns from someone legally deemed to be a danger. Republican Gov. Mike DeWine said late last month he would support such a bill and would work to develop one. Former Republican Gov. John Kasich supported red-flag laws too.

Beginning July 1, 2019, all ammunition transactions in the state of California will be subject to a background check requirement. But in order to implement this requirement, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) must first adopt necessary regulations which, as of yesterday, have been submitted to the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) for review.

RG Handguns The King of Cheap

Even during the best of times in America, not everybody can afford a top-of-the-line handgun. Back in the 1980s a line of imported handguns filled this gap with inexpensive little pocket revolvers branded RG. These little guns sold by the thousands to people who thought they then had some source of self-protection. That was debatable.

The RG stood for Rohm Gesellshaft of Germany. These guns were imported by R.G. Industries in Miami, Florida. Manufacturing ended in 1986. Mainly they went out of business because the guns were so cheaply made that reliability was nearly zip. To say they were inexpensive would be a gross understatement.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The gun gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion of your walks. Thomas Jefferson
