Bond Arms is well known for manufacturing Derringer-style handguns. Where many companies have made less expensive versions for concealed carry, Bond Arms differentiates itself by making very high-quality weapons that are tailored to a range of needs. Consider the companys Grizzly. Part of the companys Rough Series, the Grizzly pistol is named after the bear of the same name. Just as the grizzly bear is a fearsome animal, so too is the Bond Arms Grizzly. Chambered for both the .45 Colt and the .410-bore shotshell, the double-barreled pistol is ready to deliver decisive stopping power from its compact package.

When it becomes clear that a popular change in state law does something fundamentally good for citizens freedom without doing harm, it becomes much easier to get legislators to do the right thing. This is part of the reason for the quick spread of constitutional-carry laws, which now cover half of the states, as of press time. (A state is constitutional carry if a law-abiding adult who can legally possess a handgun does not need a permit to carry that handgun concealed for lawful protection.)

Unfortunately, important Environment Omnibus legislation, Senate File 4062, was unable to receive a vote and make it out of conference committee. However, your NRA-ILA has learned that the Legislature might potentially hold a Special Session later this year, and NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters need to remain vigilant and active if that occurs. |

On March 12, a two-week campaign was launched in the United Kingdom to encourage subjects of Her Majesty the Queen to surrender firearms, ammunition, weapons, and any other object even vaguely reminiscent of a gun to local police stations. An official with the National Police Chiefs Council assured citizens that they will receive amnesty for any otherwise illegal possession or transport involved in their participation. We dont need to know your name, we dont need to know how you came into possession of it, Deputy Chief Constable Helen McMillan said, all we need you to do is give us the gun. |

It is always a good thing when the final gavel drops in Montpelier and lawmakers head home for the summer. Late last week, the Vermont Legislature adjourned its 2022 session. It was a mixed bag for sure. Anti-gun politicians did their best to try and pass even more restrictions in one of the safest states in the country, affirming what we have always known. Gun control is about politics, not sound public policy.

When the United States became actively involved in the First World War during the spring of 1917, our troops deployed to France soon found themselves in the unfamiliar environment of trench warfare. Since an important component of such fighting was periodic raids on enemy trenches, guns that were capable of being effectively wielded in close confines were particularly valuable. Handguns werent sufficiently powerful, and the standard Model of 1903 and Model of 1917 rifles were too long, cumbersome and slow- firing to be truly effective in such situations. Clearly, another type of arm was needed, but there was some debate as to just what it should be.

The Savage model 1920 rifle was introduced over a century ago. Commercially it was not a big success with only about 12,000 made and production ending around 1928. By 1931 it was out of the Savage catalog. Nonetheless it remains a milestone, a rifle far ahead of its time the first American-made, lightweight bolt-action sporting rifle. Today we are fortunate to have several sub 6-lb. hunting rifles and a few around the 5-lb. range. Mostly the light weight is achieved with synthetic stocks, carbon fiber for the really light models, often with 18″ to 20″ barrels.

The Wyoming Wildlife Taskforce has unanimously recommended that the Wyoming Legislature split hunting licenses for white-tailed and mule deer to allow for improved management of the separate species. Currently, white-tailed and mule deer are just considered as deer when it comes to issuing Wyoming hunting licenses, but the task force believes this should change. When a hunter receives a deer license, the choice should be made whether the hunt will be for white-tailed or mule deer, the task force said.
