FULL TEXT BELOW:
A CARE-WORKER from Cleator Moor bought herself a cattle-prod for her own self defence after being attacked in her home.
Anita Dunne, 41, of Aldby Place, bought the weapon on eBay for her own protection, magistrates heard this week.
Joe Kelly, defending, said Dunnee had suffered a nasty assault in her home in the presence of her 10-year-old daughter.
He said the police had so far not taken action and Dunne was a nervous wreck and frightened. This led to her getting the prod, and a CS gas canister, which were both classed as unauthorised weapons. [emphasis added]
They had never been taken outside the house and his client was of previous good character. She was fined 200 and told to pay 80 costs. |
