A Florida man in his 70s fatally shot a home intruder who busted through the glass front door and began attacking his wife on Tuesday, investigators said.
The husband stated he felt he could not physically stop the intruder, so he went upstairs to get his firearm, the sheriffs office said. He shot the firearm multiple times, ending the threat.

We have been kicking around a Diamondback DB15 AR-pattern pistol for the past several weeks and have a report from the field.
Our test model, specifically a 7-inch barreled DB15PDS7B pistol, included a Gearhead Works Tailhook Mod 2 brace, which Diamondback seems to be switching to exclusively on their handgun builds. Using 7075-T6 aluminum receivers, this DB15 pistol is chambered in 5.56 NATO (the company also offers 7.62x39mm variants) and uses a heavy 4150 Chrome Moly barrel with 1-in-8 RH rifling. |

It is despicable when evil people such as this suspected terrorist attempt to carry out evil plans to take innocent life. I am thankful that the sailor at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station was prepared to defend the base and that she took quick and decisive action to stop the threat. The sailor used her handgun to shoot back and thwart a potential terror attack. Because she was armed and trained, she undoubtedly saved many lives. I wish her a full and speedy recovery.
This result is consistent with FBI reports which show that when an attacker is confronted by an armed bystander, casualties during the mass killing are either prevented or mitigated 94 percent of the time.

Consequently, my message to Black people across the country is the same today as it was a year ago: the only person you can count on to protect yourself and your family is you. God gave you the right to use whatever tools are available to defend your rights. Nothingincluding gun ownershipshould be discarded. I encourage gun ownership to my wife, my son and daughters, your sons and daughters and all Black people. I wish the Black woman in Baltimore, Korey T. Johnson, who was recently chased and followed by a deranged brother, had a gun to protect herself. She found no safety at a hotel or from the police. My heart goes out to her and her running buddy. |

Has your relationship with the Second Amendment and gun rights or control changed during or because of the coronavirus pandemic?
Live Mic host Lee Lonsberry offers his opinion on the subject and wants to know what insights listeners have to share.
Nearly 2.6 million firearms were sold in March, according to Small Arms Analytics and Forecasting, a consulting firm that tracks the firearms market. March was the busiest month ever for gun sales, even as businesses were ordered shut down in some states. |

Youve got more folding knives than you know what to do with. Thats great. But get serious. To take care of the real stuff filleting, hacking, slicing, and on occasion sticking something that doesnt want to be stuck you dont need a tool of convenience. You need something tough, long, and sharp as hell.
You need a fixed-blade knife. Now, heres the bad news: there are a lot of those on the market, and a lot of them are shit. The good news? The U.S. military has a solid track record of picking good, quality knives. Sometimes they even design them. And you dont have to be on a tour of duty to use one. Here are our five favorites. |

The Sebastian County Quorum Court opted to defer discussion of a Scott County "Bill of Rights sanctuary" proposal for another month during its meeting Tuesday.
The justices of the peace voted to table the proposal until its meeting in June.
Scott County became the first Arkansas county to approve a "Bill of Rights Ordinance" on Jan. 21, with the county declaring it wouldn't enforce any laws it deems unconstitutional, including laws restricting guns. |

Nance also said wearing a mask in public is dependent on the person's reason for covering their face. If you are legally possessing a firearm and are trying to obey the governor's order, you are not committing a crime.
However, it would be illegal if you are wearing a mask to conceal your identity.
"We always have to interpret people's intent and if you are abiding by the law and exercising your second amendment rights, you have nothing to worry about here in Bedford," Nance said. |

The indoor range where I first learned to operate defensive handguns was attached to a law-enforcement supply house. I feel lucky thats where I got my start because of the staff members who worked there at the time. They were kind enough to take me under their wings and teach me how to make the most of the limited financial resources I had at the time. |

It's bad enough that stand your ground laws increase gun homicides, but they also appear to have racially discriminatory effects. There's evidence that, after fatal confrontations, the race of the victim is "a significant predictor" of whether a stand your ground defense will be effective, with defendants twice as likely to walk free after slaying non-whites. Another analysis found that in stand your ground states, incidents in which white people shot someone who was black were deemed justifiable more than 11 times as often as the reverse. |
