We regret to inform you that Governor Kelly's veto of House Bill 2304, which sought to establish firearm safety education curricula for students of all ages using the tried-and-tested NRA's Eddie Eagle GunSafe program and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism's existing Hunter Education In Our Schools, was not overridden due to one Republican, Rep. The Democrat-controlled state Senate has voted along party lines to pass a bill requiring anyone in Delaware wanting to buy a handgun to first be fingerprinted, undergo training and obtain permission from the state. Tuesday's vote came after more than two hours of debate in which gun-control advocates argued that the proposal will help reduce the number of homicides and suicides in Delaware. Opponents argued that the bill infringes on the rights of law-abiding citizens and will have no effect on criminals responsible for the states gun violence problem.

California, the birthplace of banning semi-automatics they mislabel assault weapons, has long been considered a laboratory for oppressive and ineffective gun control. Here are just two experiments in cities within the Golden State that anti-gunners would like to see exported to the rest of the country, in a seemingly never-ending quest to eradicate the Second Amendment.

The Oregon House split along party lines Tuesday, May 2, to approve a ban on so-called ghost guns made with untraceable parts. The 35-24 vote sent House Bill 2005 to the Senate, which can only take an up-or-down vote on it. No Democrat voted against it, and no Republican voted for it. One Republican, James Hieb of Canby, was absent from the vote.

EAA, long known for their Regard, Witness, and Windicator models, two years ago began to import the Girsan MCP35 from Turkey. That later pistol seems to be modeled after the later post-1980 Browning Mark II/III models made by FN during the last few decades of the model's run with that company. The latter includes an external extractor, a serrated ring hammer, a slim trigger, a windage drift-adjustable rear sight, ships with a Mec-Gar produced 15-shot aftermarket double-stack magazine and includes both an ambidextrous safety and a magazine-disconnect safety (more on this abomination later).

I have been called quite a few names over the years, but one label I wear proudly is old school. Trends come and go, but I like to look before I leap when it comes to new technology. Unless there is some tangible advantage, I would just as soon stick with something I know is going to work than take my chances with an uncertain future.
