"The Second Amendment Foundation is asking the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate a Chicago priest for threatening to 'snuff' suburban Riverdale firearms retailer John Riggio during an anti-gun protest rally ... near Chuck's Gun Shop."

"SAF founder Alan Gottlieb is sending a letter to Assistant U.S. Attorney General Wan Kim, head of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, asking that the agency also investigate the Rev. Michael Pfleger for essentially encouraging a crowd of about 200 protesters to drive Riggio out of business ..."

... "I hate to tell you this, but we don't live in a world full of rainbows and unicorns and blue skies. We live in a world in which evil people like to victimize the innocent. We live in a world that sometimes requires you to take your safety into your own hands, because those whose job it is to keep you safe cannot be everywhere at once. If you value your own life so little that you wouldn't use violence to stop violence and save your own life and the lives of others, there's no speaking to you, and there's no convincing you. But if you believe your life and the lives of other innocents are sacred, then you'd understand that sometimes you must defend yourself from violent thugs, and the only way to stop them is to stop them dead." ...

If you, dear reader, were one such person, who believes that tragedies like the one at Virginia Tech would be stopped by taking guns out of civilians' hands, you need to think again."

"Shortly after the one-month anniversary of the Virginia Tech shootings, three more died in a church shooting in Idaho. In the month since the Virginia Tech ordeal, an estimated 2,430 more Americans were killed with guns. Are effective steps being taken to avoid senseless violent acts?"

"... Still others figure that targeted prevention -- such as prohibiting gun sales to people who have been committed to a psychiatric institution -- will lower the risk, as if most gun violence were perpetrated by individuals with such clearly identified psychiatric problems. FULL TEXT BELOW:

Three mothers who lost their sons to gunfire and a gun shop owner are unlikely allies in their support of a gun control bill.

The legislation is to be introduced today in the state Assembly.

It would subject private gun sales in Wisconsin to background checks.

The women's sons were fatally shot outside Elvin's Ice House Tavern in Milwaukee four years ago. Beverly Anderson says the man who killed their sons bought the handgun in the tavern.

Badger Ammo owner Mick Beatovic is a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.

Beatovic has a different opinion than the N-R-A, which believes the bill is another form of gun control. Beatovic believes it will keep guns out of the wrong hands.
-------

KABA Note: I am sure that the fact that such a bill would be a cash cow for all FFLs never entered Beatovic's mind.
