Today, the last day of session, the Senate has scheduled a vote for House Bill 1092, to expand Illinois program of suspending Second Amendment rights without due process. Please contact your state senator and ask them to OPPOSE HB 1092. House Amendment 1 to House Bill 1092 widens the definition of family members who can petition for an order that will cause an individual to have their constitutional right suspended, and their property seized. These Firearm Restraining Orders are issued following baseless accusations, and without a hearing or other opportunity for the respondent to be heard in court.

My favorite home defense/travel companion is my Mossberg Cruiser in 410 bore, (NOT gauge, dammit) shotgun. The 18.5 inch barrel has no choke so you can fire any of the 410 self defense loads you like. It holds 5+ 1 if you prefer 2.5″ inch shells and 4 + 1 if you like 3″ shells. Ive learned to not combine 2.5″ with 3″ shells as it doesnt eject or feed as well.

Just in case of a Japanese invasion in the aftermath of the Pearl Harbor attacks, loggers and backwoodsmen in the Pacific Northwest were mobilized and given a gun they understood. This happened in Canada's British Columbia province during World War II when a group termed at first the Coastal Defence Guards, then later the Pacific Coast Militia Rangers, were formed in early 1942. While the threat of invasion sounds far-fetched today, keep in mind that at the time Japanese submarines were bombarding the U.S. West Coast while one of Yamamotos task forces had seized islands off Alaska and were busy turning them into bases. |

A Republican-controlled committee in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives gave approval last week to a proposal to bring permitless carry to the Keystone State. The state House Judiciary Committee voted 14 to 11 in favor of House Bill 659, moving it to the full House for further consideration. The measure recognizes the right of an individual over 21 years of age, who has passed a criminal background check upon purchase of a firearm, to legally carry a handgun concealed without first having to obtain government permission. |

The soft point boat tail (SP-BT) is a relatively popular, no-frills style bullet primarily used in rifle ammunition for long-range shooting. Many F-Class competitive shooters still use this style of bullet, as it is a proven performer. With the variety of match-grade ammo on the market, there is likely a load that will perform admirably in your rifle.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by one enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (1821) |
