The XPB series is a line of ammo created and distributed by Barnes Bullets (well known among reloaders), an ammunition manufacturer based in Utah. These bullets are only used in large caliber handgun ammo, from the .357 up to .500 S&W and everything in between. The Barnes XPB features various nose shapes, but one thing is standard across every bullet type the hollow point. This allows for maximum expansion on impact and phenomenal stopping power, no matter what youre shooting. This particular style of ammunition is great for home defense, and is also fairly popular among handgun hunters who go after game like hogs and other handgun-friendly targets.

You get what you pay for, and What's your life worth? are quotes I often hear used to pressure budget shoppers into spending a little more or pressure someone out of buying a budget firearm. While the quotes have some merit to them not everyone is ready to drop $600 on a pistol (that may or may not be any better), especially if it is their first gun. SCCY Firearms has been producing affordable guns for years including the .380 models we've reviewed previously (CPX-3 and CPX-3 Red Dot). The CPX-2 is very similar and chambered in the more popular 9mm. |

Bloody Chicago recorded 18 murders on May 31, making it the citys deadliest day in 60 years.
The dubious milestone was reached on a day Chicago was roiled by another round of protests and looting following the Memorial Day death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.
The 18 deaths tallied by the University of Chicago Crime Lab made May 31, 2020 the single-most violent day in six decades, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Monday. The Crime Lab numbers go back only to 1961.
On May 29 and May 30, there were seven murders. In a city with an international reputation for crime, the 25 murders on those three days made for the most violent weekend in Chicagos modern history, according to the paper. |

Lawmakers in the Hawkeye State last week approved a measure that would help protect shooting ranges and further bar cities and counties from regulating guns. Iowa HF 2502 passed the state House 52-44 in February before clearing the state Senate 32-17 this month and now heads to Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds for her review. The measure has several sections that help ensure the right to keep and bear arms. |

On June 4, the Florida Supreme Court declared an effort to ban commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms through a ballot measure invalid, describing the proposal as misleading and a violation of state law. Anti-gun group Ban Assault Weapons Now (BAWN), a project of several gun control groups including the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and David Hoggs March For Our Lives, had attempted to place the gun ban on the ballot in 2020, but failed to obtain the required signatures. |

The addition of a safe room or a walk-in vault that has a secure door and no windows is all the rage these days in home building. Areas such as these provide refuge from attack, whether from highwaymen or natural disaster and theres no better place to store your guns. Sure, if youre a millionaire you can have a vault built into your mansion thatd be the envy of Batman, but most of us are just gun owners looking for a little extra security. Here are some considerations on designing a walk-in gun vault that wont break the bank.

Whats your B.C? The B.C. (Ballistic Coefficient) question seems to have displaced what caliber are you shooting as the most common if inconsequential question a hunter could ask. The caliber question should really be what cartridge are you shooting? And the B.C. question hardly matters over the distances at which most North American big game animals are shot. |
