A former Minnesota state trooper on Wednesday pleaded guilty to texting himself intimate pictures from a woman's cell phone after she'd been in a suspected DWI crash.

Albert Kuehne, 37, was originally charged with two felony harassment counts that could've carried a possible five-year prison sentence.

But Kuehne pleaded guilty in Hennepin County District Court to a lesser charge of misdemeanor nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images and agreed to two years of probation.

Submitter's note: Special treatment for only one.

There is a lot more to carrying a concealed firearm for self-defense than snapping a holster on your waistband and walking out the door. Its a serious commitment that will impact pretty much everything someone does outside their home, from the clothes a person wears and how they wear them, to the way they get into a car and buckle a seatbelt, to the exact mechanics of picking something up off the flooror at least, it should.

In three weeks, permit less carry goes into effect in Tennessee.

And is it impacting gun sales? The folks at Royal Range in Nashville say theyre not seeing much of an impact on sales due to the Permitless carry law. But, the gun range store says recently theyve seen a new trend with women.

So far not a giant impact, Bob Allen, the Director of Training at Royal Range said. Were kind of steady, maybe just a little bit above right now. And really about the same with ammo, Allen said.

More than 20 protesters crowded the entrance gate to the Amazon construction site beginning shortly after 5 p.m. A few carried flags with positive messages of unity, while others took their guns with them to the protest, which organizer Keren Prescott said was in an effort to indicate that the stakes are being raised.

There is nothing like Black people exercising their Second Amendment right to get folks moving, Prescott said, referring to the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that protects the right to keep and bear arms. We are tired of being nice.

Bonta that declared California's assault weapons laws unconstitutional. The Attorney General will also ask the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to stay the district courts ruling, which would extend the current 30-day stay of the decision and leave the laws in effect throughout the appeal process.

If anyone tries to tell you that Senate Bill 256, passed by the Democrat majority in the recent legislative session, is just about giving local governments control over gun regulation, theyre lying through their teeth. Fact is that the bill, which unwinds decades of state pre-emption over guns in Colorado, only allows for laws stricter than those at the state level; a bastardization of the concept of local control. The bill also penalizes those Coloradans most vulnerable to acts of violence, and most in need of being able to defend themselves.

The state has formally appealed a court ruling last Friday that overturned Californias longstanding ban on assault weapons, marking the next step of a legal battle that could eventually reach the Supreme Court.

Speaking from a news conference at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center alongside the governor and mayor, Attorney General Rob Bonta referenced last months mass shooting at a San Jose VTA yard that left nine dead as evidence that no one law can stop mass shootings but pledged to fight the controversial ruling nonetheless.

A great debate is going on in our country right now. There are those who say that tort lawyers should be turned loose on the gun manufacturing and gun sales industry. Others say no and have received protection for gun manufacturers and, in some states, users as well. In Pennsylvania, outside of the manufacturing context, the debate goes on.

Passage of the Second Amendment Preservation Act represents a victory for conservatives who have pushed the legislation for nearly a decade and picked up new momentum this year by responding to the Biden administrations vows to enact stricter gun control.
