History of 444 Marlin Ammo

In 1964, Marlin Firearms and Remington Arms joined forces to develop a cartridge that filled the gap created by the lack of lever action rifles chambered in .45-70. The result was the .444 Marlin, which was chambered in the acclaimed Model 336 lever action rifle. To develop the cartridge, designers from Marlin and Remington started with a .44 Magnum case, lengthened it by nearly an inch and capped it with a jacketed soft point bullet weighing 240 grains. The bullet actually has a diameter of 0.429 inches, the same as a .44 Magnum bullet. But similarities to the .44 Magnum end there, as the performance of the .444 Marlin is on another level entirely.

While the best strategy in the short and medium-term for Second Amendment supporters may be fighting not to lose, that does not mean that Second Amendment supporters should not take the offensive when it is the right time to do so. The question is what should the offensive focus on? There are two fronts Second Amendment supporters should think about: Legislative and Legal, the former with two fronts of its own federal and state. Each will require different strategies.

It was news that sent shudders through every person who supports the Second Amendment: Ten Republican senators have signed on to a framework that will allegedly improve gun safety in America. You can guess who these RINOs areits the same bunch who will always agree to limit American rights to keep up with their friends on the Democrat side of the aisle. And while there are a couple of good ideas in the framework, the rest of it is either useless, harmful, and/or unconstitutional.

Ask the majority of Colt rimfire pistol owners which they recognize, collect, favor, or would most like to own, and the answer will overwhelming be some version of the venerable Woodsman. Make no mistake, the Woodsman is an outstanding platform, but focusing solely on that one is doing disservice to an oft-overlooked raring pony designthe similarly built, albeit more affordable Huntsman. Heres why we grabbed a Huntsman from the Guns.com Vault and why you might add it to your wish list as well.

On July 1, the state of Washingtons newest gun laws will go into effect. Those two laws, while seemingly straightforward, have created confusion for some gun owners who are unsure of what will still be considered legal. For example, the new ban on high-capacity magazines limits the maximum ammunition capacity to 10 rounds.

B Western movies always show everyone being openly armed. This is fantasy and rarely happened, especially in towns. Carrying of weapons was forbidden by many municipalities but this did not prevent carry, it just changed it from openly carrying a large revolver to a hidden pocket pistol.

May 31 was the final day of the 2022 Spring Turkey Season. Each year becomes a bigger production for me, for as much as work and weather will allow. Turkey hunting as much as you possibly can does come at a cost if you do miss out on the excellent spring fishing and mushroom foraging, but if you are lucky you can try to mix all the best activities of spring together for a weekend or at least across the weeks.

In case you need a reminder of the Democratic Partys priorities when it comes to gun control, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney is happy to offer one. Earlier this month, an argument between three men turned into a shootout. Gregory Jackson was shot and killed by Micah Towns after Jackson had opened fire. The third man, Rashaan Vereen, was arrested, as officers believe he picked up Jacksons gun after he had been killed and handed it to another man who fled the scene. A fourth man, Quran Garner, was arrested after firing into a crowd near the fight.

Please contact your lawmakers and ask them to OPPOSE these bills.

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie fired back at Democrat Rep. David Cicilline after he suggested during a congressional hearing that there wasnt "a single incident" where someone with an assault weapon "was stopped by a person with a gun." "The fact that guns are used by good guys every single day to prevent and stop bad guys is an inconvenient truth for Rep Cicilline and other Democrats who want to trample on the Second Amendment," Massie told Fox News Digital on Tuesday following his exchange with Cicilline last week.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
What is ominous is the ease with which some people go from saying that they don't like something to saying that the government should forbid it. When you go down that road, don't expect freedom to survive very long. Thomas Sowell
