Massachusetts is poised to become the latest state allowing relatives, other household members and romantic partners to initiate legal action that would temporarily remove guns from people considered a danger to themselves or others.
The House voted 139-14 in May to approve extreme risk protection orders commonly known as a red flag gun bill and the Senate passed its version by voice vote last week. We urge the Legislature to quickly resolve minor differences in the bills and send the legislation to Gov. Charlie Baker, who has signaled his support. |

Democratic lawmakers in Delaware are trying to push a ban on certain semi-automatic weapons to the Senate floor for a vote, even though the measure failed in committee.
The proposed ban failed to clear a committee last week amid opposition from gun-rights advocates, but Senate President Pro Tem David McBride said Thursday he will put the bill, which he supports, first on Tuesday's agenda. Absent a change in the committee's decision, which is unlikely, a majority of the Democratic-led Senate would have to vote to suspend the rules to consider the measure. |

The first person I want to feature because I find her very intriguing is Rene Cherie aka LionessTactics on Instagram. She is someone who is very much involved in the gun industry. Shes a trainer, a mom, and an all-around badass. She is gorgeous and what I like to call classy sexy.
Before she wore a law-enforcement uniform full time, she was a hair stylist, dressing people up for special occasions. Now, one of her passions is teaching at the Compound, an exclusive training facility located in Moorpark California. Shes not only a firearms instructor but shes also is a black belt in Krav Maga. Its a system where they teach you weapon training is just as important as hand-to-hand combat. |

The letter to the editor that asks us to examine the fantasy of firearm self-defense was filled with many generalizations, and few facts.
They quoted the medical journal PEDIATRICS as saying that 1,200 children die and 5,790 are injured annually from guns, but failed to note that these children are often gang members. This is a common tactic among anti-gun advocates to inflate numbers as much as possible, in order to make their case for more gun control. |

Police said Christopher Hill ran out to the parking lot after ripping an entire Walmart cash register off the counter, but then he ran into trouble in the form of Army veteran Michael Reardon.
Hill approached Reardon, who was sitting in a pickup truck in front of Supercuts hair salon, and pulled a knife on him, cutting Reardon on the hands and legs.
After I started blocking his cuts with the knife, I called her, because she was walking away; called her back, Reardon said of alerting his wife to the attack. At the time when I called her, I reached in between my glove box and my console, between my seats, reached down and got my weapon and brandished it for him. He was like, Dont shoot me. I was like, 'Then get out of here.' |

I recently received a letter from a high school girl in San Francisco. It was a handwritten lettercourteous in tonewhich pleaded for us at GOA to consider several gun control restrictions. This teenager said she was not asking for muchjust bans on bump stocks, AR-15s and similar type firearms, as well as stricter background checks.
Gee, not that much? I would hate to see what asking for much would look like.
But it reminded me once again that in this battle to protect our gun rights, the anti-gun Left is trying to weaponize our children against us. |

On June 6, 2018, Federal District Court Judge Charles Kocoras dismissed a federal lawsuit challenging the Villages decision to deny a rezoning request which would have allowed a 31,000 square foot indoor shooting range at 79th Street and Frontage Road.
In April, 2017, following extensive public hearings, the Board of Trustees voted to deny the gun range request. The owner and developer filed suit in federal court. Their primary complaint was that the Villages decision violated the Second Amendment rights of the developer as well as the rights of individuals desiring to facilitate their Second Amendment rights by practicing at gun ranges. |

The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) today announced support for a lawsuit challenging Boulder's ban on commonly owned firearms, so-called high capacity magazines, as well as its ban on adults under the age of 21 from purchasing any firearms.
"Prohibiting law-abiding 18-20 year old adults from purchasing firearms and banning some of the most commonly used self-defense firearms in America will do nothing to improve public safety," said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA-ILA. "Gun control only makes it harder for law-abiding citizens to protect and defend themselves. The NRA will do all we can to restore the Second Amendment rights of Boulder's law-abiding citizens." |

Pro-gun activists are celebrating their fifth annual Flag Day Second Amendment Rally on Saturday in an event that is already drawing stiff local opposition.
The yearly event, which is billed as celebrating and asserting the Second Amendment, will feature speakers like brothers Ammon and Ryan Bundy, who have led armed standoffs against the government in Oregon and Nevada.
The group Belchertown Voices for Justice has organized a Rally to Stop Gun Violence that afternoon on the Town Common in opposition to the pro-gun rally. |

Intuitwhich suddenly and unexpectedly cancelled credit card processing with Gunsite Academy last monthvoluntarily contacted the famed firearm training facility and has agreed to cover the cost of manpower required to recover the rerouted funds.
We were pleasantly surprised when Intuit senior staff called and asked Gunsite to educate them in how gun sales really work, Gunsite Chief Operating Officer Ken Campbell said. A good amount of time was spent explaining 4473s, bound books, ATF audits and NICS checks. Our conversations were absolutely polite and professional. |

Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy inked a six-pack of new gun laws on Wednesday as promised while a Second Amendment group returned fire in the shape of a legal challenge.
The bills, approved by lawmakers last week, include a red flag seizure measure to remove guns from those believed to be threats, one to trim magazine capacity down to 10 rounds, enhanced background checks, a ban on armor-piercing ammo and a measure derailing prior efforts by former Gov. Chris Christie to make it easier to get a gun license. |

During the three day trial, Jelks' attorney constantly argued the shooting was justified.
Esrkine Mathis claimed that his client had no choice but to open fire since Woodfin was trying to break into his Tarrant home and rob him.
Apparently, some of the jurors bought that story, because both of the jury's questions focused on Alabama's self-defense and stand-your-ground laws. |

He wasnt born with the right to bear arms, but Robert Benedict appreciates it now that he has it.
To show how he feels, Benedict will be on Town Square from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday to honor the Second Amendment and its declaration that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Hell be packing. He urges people who share his respect for the right to carry firearms to join him. And to also be armed. |

The Supreme Court gave voters slightly more freedom to wear political T-shirts or buttons when they go to cast a ballot, striking down a broad Minnesota law that imposed a political apparel ban.
The justices by a 7-2 vote said Thursday that Minnesotas law violated the First Amendment because it was not clear what was prohibited. The states lawyers had told the court, for example, that the law would bar a T-shirt that included the text of the Second Amendment and its right to bear arms, but a T-shirt with the First Amendment and its freedom of speech text would be allowed. |

Last week, the Mississippi Supreme Court ruled that judges cant restrict conceal carrying at courthouses. But that's not so easy to make happen in some courthouses - including those in Harrison County.
Right now, the process remains the same at the Harrison County courthouse in Gulfport. And the sign is clear: no guns allowed in the courtroom area. Period.
That makes Marvin Clifford angry. |

Taxpayers remember that generosity; big banks evidently dont. Wall Street apparently takes and then forgets, and then comes after the guns of law-abiding American citizens and small businesses.
In an act of immense corporate overreach, Citigroup issued a press release in March saying it will penalize banking clients who follow federal, state and local laws regarding gun sales. Citigroups new policy tells businesses what kind of firearms and accessories they can stock in their stores, and who they can sell them to. |

A circuit court judge in Lake County, Illinois has granted an injunction against the Chicago suburb of Deerfield, blocking the village from enforcing a ban on so-called assault weapons, and handing a victory to the Second Amendment Foundation.
SAF was joined in the lawsuit by the Illinois State Rifle Association and Deerfield resident Daniel Easterday, who is a lawful firearms owner. SAF and ISRA had challenged the ban on the grounds that it violates the states preemption law that was adopted in 2013. |
