I have one small thing to ask of the gun-prohibitionists. Please stop lying to us. For extra credit, Id like the rights-restrictors to stop lying to themselves as well. Even that may be too much to ask.

If the gun control advocates must lie, then please make up some creative propaganda because the old lies are wearing thin. Here are some obvious ones, and see if you agree.

The Clark County Board on Friday approved a resolution in support of the Second Amendment and in opposition to any state plan to limit gun rights.

Other Illinois counties, including Christian, Effingham and Shelby county, have adopted gun sanctuary resolutions, a term that comes from so-called sanctuary cities that don't cooperate with aspects of federal immigration enforcement.

The Supreme Court struck down a Minnesota law that forbade voters from wearing political insignias at polling places after the law was challenged by a voter who was told he must remove or cover his Tea Party shirt.

It is beyond a doubt that the state's application of the law unfairly discriminated against the free speech of NRA members. The lawyer for the state himself told the court that, under the law, a shirt with the slogan Parkland Strong would be permissible, while an NRA shirt would not. Ironically, while a shirt displaying the text of the First Amendment would be allowed, a Second Amendment shirt, which could be viewed as political would not.

Three months ago the students from South Florida established themselves as a potent force in the gun debate with the March For Our Lives rally. This summer they're hitting the road with a new mission: turn the wave of young activism they helped spark into an energized voting bloc for the November mid-term elections.

A pro-gun group from Utah is in Chicago to participate in a peace march held by survivors of the Parkland, Fla. shooting.

Members of the Utah Gun Exchange drove their trademark black armored truck from Utah to Chicago to support peace and safer schools but stand strong on defending the Second Amendment, according to a post on social media.

Co-founder Bryan Melchior has been documenting the trip in a series of videos posted to Facebook.

Were out here to protect and preserve our constitution and our constitutional rights, Melchior said in one of the videos.

An investor confronted the CEO of the Dicks Sporting Goods chain at an annual shareholders meeting in Pittsburgh, blasting the retailers recent restrictions on gun sales and its anti-gun advocacy.

David Almasi, a vice president at the National Center for Public Policy Research, attended the meeting Wednesday representing the think tanks Free Enterprise Project, according to a report by Fox Business. Almasi accused Dicks Sporting Goods CEO Edward Stack of violating fiduciary duties by knowingly and purposely giving up money.

In an emotional presentation at Tuesdays Township Committee meeting, Mayor Suzette Cavadas presented a proclamation designating June 1 Gun Violence Awareness Day.

This is really close to my heart, said Cavadas. She said Americans are twenty-five times more likely to be killed with guns than people in other developed countries. Every day, 96 Americans are killed by gun violence, said Cavadas, and on average there are nearly 1,300 gun homicides every year.

The National Rifle Association filed a motion in federal court Thursday for expedited discovery in its lawsuit against Gov. Andrew Cuomo and a state agency.

The association is aiming to speed up the discovery process to prepare for a preliminary injunction against Cuomo and state Department of Financial Services Superintendent Maria Vullo.

The NRA has claimed that Cuomo and Vullo conspired to coerce financial institutions to sever business ties with the association, causing it to suffer financial losses. The injunction would seek to halt any efforts by Cuomo or DFS to penalize other companies for partnering with the NRA.

It is by no means a closely held secret that Rolling Stone magazine has aggressively promoted an anti-gun agenda for many decades. It started in 1980, with the death of John Lennon at the hands of Mark David Chapman, when the magazines founder, Jann Wenner, decided he wanted to make something good come out of (the murder). Wenner started the Foundation on Violence in America, which was apparently designed to promote a public-relations campaign aimed at convincing Americans to accept restrictions on handguns.

The Colorado affiliate of the National Rifle Association has filed a lawsuit against the city of Boulder in an effort to pushback against the city's new assault-weapon ban.

Lawyers for the Colorado State Shooting Association, Boulder-based Gunsport of Colorado and two private citizens say the new ordinance, which took effect Friday, is invalid because sections of it conflict with state law.

On June 14th, the National Rifle Association along with the Oregon Hunters Association filed a legal challenge with the Oregon Supreme Court to contest the ballot title for Initiative Petition 44, which would force law-abiding gun owners to render their firearms useless in a self-defense situation and would significantly restrict the states youth hunting program. The Oregon Attorney General certified this misleading and inadequate ballot title on May 31st after more than 400 comments were submitted on the proposed title.

Williams didnt need a light to find the gun. Hes been totally blind since he was a child. But hes held a North Dakota concealed-carry permit for 17 years and believes he is the countrys first such permit holder.

He likes to keep the .45 in his pants pocket. Just kind of always on me is like putting the belt or keys or anything, its just the way it goes.

This summer, the 44-year-old is publishing a how-to book to encourage other blind people to exercise what he calls their right to self-defense.

It took days to figure out where all the bullets flew when a man licensed to carry a gun exchanged shots with a masked 16-year-old boy and killed him on a busy street in Oak Park last year.

Investigators counted about a dozen shell casings outside a bank on Madison Street, according to police reports. They dug bullets from the man's Buick Regal.

This week the press gleefully reported the anti-gun pronouncements of a trio of diverse special interest groups. The Washington Post announced, Frustrated [American Medical Association] adopts sweeping policies to cut gun violence. In a separate piece, addressing statements by the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), the Post blared Police chiefs plot new strategies against gun violence and mass shootings. Politico reported, Conference of Mayors passes resolutions favoring gun control. In other breaking news, water is wet and the sun rises in the East.

All three of these organizations have lengthy histories of opposing the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners.

Three legal challenges were filed this week against the ballot title for an initiative petition to impose storage requirements on Oregon gun owners.

The court challenge drastically shortens the time supporters have to gather signatures to get Initiative Petition 44 on the ballot, but they are publicly optimistic about the effort.

Ballot titles are the brief caption, summary and description of the result of a yes or no vote printed for each measure on the ballot. If anyone objects to the title, they can petition the Oregon Supreme Court to review the language.

If you dont submit to our so-called common sense gun control policy, well throw you in jail. Thats the mindset of New Jersey. With new anti-gun Governor Phil Murphy helming the ship there, you knew things would be terrible; hes a Democrat. Beth laid out the details for this law, but the crux of it is that if you dont turn over so-called high capacity magazines, those that hold more than ten-rounds, the state could throw you in hail for up to 18 months (via Free Beacon):

Weve heard your comments and concerns. Rest assured, our lawsuits are coming. The same way NJ2AS has prevailed against 23 towns and the State of New Jersey (3 times), we shall prevail again.

Nevertheless, lawsuits are merely one piece of a larger puzzle. Were fighting corrupt public officials with our money while they play with Monopoly money (technically our money, too, but they do not care about burning taxpayer funds). Thats why its important we unite as one NJ2AS, relaunching old methods that have been proven to work while adopting new strategies to take on our enemies.

Its a crowded field of candidates in the Democratic gubernatorial primary, with five candidates now in the race. Meanwhile- there are calls for agriculture commissioner Adam Putnam- running on the GOP ticket for Governor- to resign. Whats behind those calls?

Democratic analyst Carol Cox and Republican analyst Molly Nardella join Intersection to talk about the issues driving the Democratic gubernatorial campaign, and how Adam Putnam is handling fallout over his agencys handling of concealed carry permits. 291 people were issued concealed carry permits in error, after an employee failed to review background checks. But Putnam says the employee was fired, and while those permits were revoked, none of the 291 had red flags.

Though it was already defeated in committee, this anti-gun measure could be brought to the floor through a procedural move. It is more important than ever that members immediately contact their state Senator and strongly urge them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 163.

Police Chief Jim Cervera is calling on Congress to pass stricter gun laws like universal background checks.

"All the recommendations that we're asking for are totally reasonable," Cervera said in an interview on Friday.

Cervera recently returned from a meeting with other police chiefs from around the country. He's a board member of the Major Cities Chiefs Association. During the meeting, the group updated its firearms violence policy to include calling for more background checks, banning high capacity magazines, and reinstating the assault weapons ban.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin Historical Review of Pennsylvania. [Note: This sentence was often quoted in the Revolutionary period. It occurs even so early as November, 1755, in an answer by the Assembly of Pennsylvania to the Governor, and forms the motto of Franklin's "Historical Review," 1759, appearing also in the body of the work. Frothingham: Rise of the Republic of the United States, p. 413. ]
