------- Inanity of the day: James Moran, D-VA: "These are unparalleled weapons, and I'm not trying to restrict them in the United States... I just don't want them sold by arms dealers."

"It is at this time of the year that some sentimental Americans reflect on the greatness of the Founding Fathers." ...
"September 11, 2001 should have awakened America to the harsh realities of life, and the need to reassess its priorities for the sake of its future. That the country has not since been directly attacked is at once a testament to the greatness of those sworn to protect it, and an excuse for the lazy and shallow to return to their shortsighted ways."
"Yet, whether prompted by their indifference or the hope of political gain, all who do so are begging America's enemies to strike once again." |

"Chuck Michel, attorney for the CRPA said the clubs move reflects an increasing trend. 'As gun bans become more and more extreme, ever larger segments of the firearms industry are responding by cutting off the supply to government agencies. We all support rank and file law enforcement, but some of their leaders are out of control. In fact,' Michel added, 'the major ammunition manufactures are warning that if SB 357 is passed, they will abandon the California market.'" |

"...Council is helping keep alive the national Democratic Party's gun control agenda, which has lost credibility nationally and in Ohio, and cost that political party election after election. ...study after study has proven that these failed social experiments do nothing to control crime. Add to that the city's own statistics show that the police property room is being flooded with 9mm handguns, and that so-called 'assault weapons' are the least of the financially-strapped city's worries. This issue cost Columbus taxpayers dearly when politicians rammed this through 16 years ago. Once again, it does not seem that Council cares that taxpayers and businesses will suffer for their actions." |
