"The National Rifle Association and its allies in the House beat back an effort Thursday to restrict gun manufacturers' exports of high-powered, .50-caliber rifles that can bring down jet airliners from a mile away."

"By a 278-149 vote, the House killed an amendment by Rep. James Moran to block .50-caliber exports to civilians. He said the guns are dream weapons for terrorists."

'As gun bans become more and more extreme, ever larger segments of the firearms industry are responding by cutting off the supply to government agencies. We all support rank and file law enforcement, but some of their leaders are out of control. "U.S. Army staff sergeant was charged with murdering his two commanding officers last week at a base outside Baghdad, the military said Thursday in what is believed to be the first case of an American soldier in Iraq accused of killing his superiors."

"Staff Sgt. Alberto B. Martinez, 37, a supply specialist with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 42nd Infantry Division, New York Army National Guard, was charged Wednesday in connection with the June 7 deaths of the two officers at Forward Operating Base Danger, near Tikrit�Saddam Hussein�s hometown 80 miles north of Baghdad."

"A Hammond police officer who reportedly pointed his gun at another cop while inside the police station is leaving the force. Patrolman Timothy Leimbach's voluntary resignation, effective Saturday, was accepted by the Board of Public Works and Safety today. Police would not say why Leimbach chose to leave. The other officer has reportedly declined to press criminal charges against Leimbach."

Elesem of Tema New Town Police Detachment for his alleged role in the disappearance of an AK 47 assault rifle and 19 rounds of ammunition issued to him for guard duties last January. Sergeant Elesem is being tried for the theft of the rifle before the Tema White House Magistrate Court."

"A statement signed by Chief Superintendent D.N. ampah Bennin, Director of Police Public Relations, said on January 25 this year, Sergeant Elesem reported at the Tema New Town Charge Office that the rifle he had taken to his guard duty point at the Dangme Rural Bank, Tema New Town, was missing."

"...Council is helping keep alive the national Democratic Party's gun control agenda, which has lost credibility nationally and in Ohio, and cost that political party election after election. ...study after study has proven that these failed social experiments do nothing to control crime. "The National Rifle Association is calling on Virginia gubernatorial candidate Democrat Tim Kaine to stop 'misleading' the state's voters by 'deliberately misusing comments' made by former NRA President Charlton Heston."

Through a number of investigative methods, Special Agents look to identify suspicious purchasers making false statements or engaging in 'straw purchases' to obtain firearms for transport out of the State of Nevada. A straw purchase is a transaction that involves a buyer who does not fill out the required paperwork and undergo a background check, but has another person fill out the paperwork, who is not the real purchaser."
