When New Jerseys anti-gun Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy tried to capitalize on the weekend shooting at a Trenton arts festival by declaring that now is a great time to talk about gun policy, the chairman of a national gun rights organization quickly called him out.

Yes, lets talk about New Jerseys abysmal gun policy, said Alan Gottlieb, head of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Lets hear Murphy explain how keeping honest citizens disarmed while criminals like Tahaji Wells, who just got out of prison in February and should not have had a firearm at all under existing law, are released early where they can prey upon innocent, and defenseless, Garden State residents.

Its become a common refrain after each new mass shooting: There were red flags. Before 26 people died in a rural church in Sutherland Springs in November, the shooter had escaped from a mental health facility, received a domestic violence conviction and had a standoff with police. Before the February massacre of 17 students and staff at a high school in Parkland, Florida, there were repeated calls to the police and multiple warnings about a potential school shooting to the FBI.

A credit card processors role in handling a Georgia gunmakers financial transactions has suddenly become a hot issue in the race for governor, a sharp example of how Second Amendment rights continue to help frame the July runoff. Both Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp slammed Intuit, a financial firm that processes credit card payments, for discriminating against Honor Defense, a fast-growing gun manufacturer and retailer based in Gainesville. The Republican candidates for governor seized on the issue after it was publicized by a gun rights publication.

I-1639 includes sweeping changes to the states gun laws, especially concerning semi-automatic rifles such as AR-15s.
Tallman Trask is with the Alliance For Gun Responsibility, the group behind the statewide initiative. The goal here is really to make sure that our schools and our communities are safe from the kind of gun violence that terrorizes our country and even our state and city regularly, and all too often, Trask said. To do that, it does three really important interconnected things: Raise the age to purchase semi-automatic assault weapons in the state to 21 from the current age of 18; It will create enhanced background checks for those weapons.

Remember all the times the anti-gun Left talked about common sense gun control? They only wanted to pass so-called universal background checks, remember that? Well, thats expanded to increasing the age to purchase any firearm to 21, limiting magazine sizes, and in some cases, banning certain firearms altogether in certain parts of the country.

We hope senators will rise to the occasion and vote yes. But even if they vote no, the Senate ought to take a vote, so that every Delawarean knows where their elected representative stands.

In June 1955, Colts Mfg. Co.s new masterpiece, the Python double-action revolver, was first shipped from the Hartford, Conn., factory, beginning a half-century of continuous production. Colts factory superintendent, Adalbert (Al) Gunther, was heavily involved in the design of what was to become the companys flagship double-action revolver. It started in 1953 when Bill Henry, Colts head salesman, came to Gunther with the idea for a new precision target revolver. Colt had no budget for experimental guns at the time, so the prototype was made from existing parts and from raw steel, which was machined and welded as needed.

Daily concealed carry seems effortless for many. We refuse to be victims and hold sacred having the ability to protect and defend ourselves if needed. Each day we make carrying our firearm a part of our routine. This should be black and white, cut and dried, and easy for anyone who exercises their Second Amendment right, correct? Wrong. There are many citizens among us who value this right yet are hesitant to exercise it because theyre timid about carrying.
