Founded and funded by rabidly anti-gun billionaire and failed Presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, the deceptively named Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) was created in 2006 to lobby for gun control, including increased restrictions and bans on completely legal firearms.

The Frontier West was nothing if not a place of opportunity. It offered an unlimited number of ways to perish including disease (a big favorite), thirst, starvation, weather, livestock, serpents, insanity, and, of course, your fellow man. There was not a lot you could do about anything except the last, and for that the remedy was: Get a gun.

A reader asked Why have you never written about the .308 Winchester cartridge? Well, why not now? Should be great fun! The .308 Win. was released by Winchester as a commercial cartridge in 1952. Winchester chambered it initially in the bolt-action Model 70 rifle, and later in the Models 88 and 100 getting so sleepy ballistics almost equal to the .30-06 but in a shorter cartridge suited to semiautomatic and lever actions yawn and and short bolt actions zzzzzz. |

Thanks to your constant contact with lawmakers, the prioritization of key bills by House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont) and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick (R-Houston), and the support of pro-Second Amendment legislators, we saw unprecedented movement during the 87th Regular Session to restore our rights and demonstrate that the Lone Star State is a leader in the fight to protect and preserve our firearm freedoms. Your NRA-ILA is proud to have played a major role in these successes, and to report that the following bills are headed to Governor Abbott for his signature. We will report to you when the governor has taken final action on these measures!

The ingrained daily blunders which afflict the innovative cloud of servers and middling coders providing the brute strength for the effulgent silhouette of an automated digital construct harvesting the brain power and labor of billions of end users is a study in the varying degrees of pompous. Nestled along the shores of San Francisco bay, the dream that has become a lingering reality emanates from the glass panels of the F***book corporate office nexus, and data collection enterprise, and attains structure as the petabytes of data interface with human ingenuity.

When President Joe Biden released his plan in February to tackle gun violence, he also announced the nomination of David Chipman to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF. Chipmans nomination as ATF director raised immediate concerns from Second Amendment advocates, many of whom see it as a slap in the face to the nations tens of millions of responsible gun owners.

With the NJ GOP debate in our rearview and the primary election coming up on June 8th, 2021, I wanted to cap off my series of interviews by sharing a chat I had with Brian D. Levine. Levine is a former Mayor of a New Jersey town and CPA. Levine, like Rizzo, did not qualify to take part in the debate with Ciattarelli and Singh. But, unlike Rizzo, he was not afforded an opportunity to be interviewed with the same questions either. Most of what I talked to Levine about was much of the same that I discussed with the other candidates. |

Legislators have brought guns into the Oregon State Capitol for personal protection. Protesters have carried semi-automatic rifles onto the grounds and into the building. Later this year, doing so will be outlawed under a bill signed Tuesday by Gov. Kate Brown that was earlier passed by the Legislature, with Democrats in favor and minority Republicans opposed. The new law also mandates the safe storage of guns. |
