People continued to react Friday to the home invasion Thursday afternoon in Botetourt County in which a resident shot an intruder.
Police said the suspect, Edward Barbour, held a homeowner at gunpoint and asked for keys to a truck before another person inside the house got a gun and shot him once in the neck.
Tod Burke, a criminal justice expert and former police officer, has published work on home invasions and said that, based on the evidence hes seen, the homeowners were well within their rights. |

The Daily Signal has the story of Ronald Stolarczyk, who lives in the Utica, New York region. He found himself forced into a position where he had to use lethal force to save his life in his own home when armed intruders broke in. He thankfully survived (the intruders did not) but that turned out to only be the beginning of his problems. |

Schlossberg and state Rep. Peter Schweyer, both Democrats from Allentown, support two bills that target certain assault and semi-automatic weapons, including the AR-15.
The legislation would effectively ban the possession, purchase, transfer, use or manufacture of those weapons in Pennsylvania, with exceptions for military and law enforcement. But it would allow people who owned the weapons prior to the date of enforcement to continue doing so. |

No one can say how many shootings were not even attempted because an intended victim or someone in the crowd might be armed. We could take a significant step toward stopping gun violence by allowing citizens with clean records, who take the proper training (as with a drivers license) and demonstrate their ability to carry a weapon. |

The reasons to have a bug out/survival .22 rimfire (or two) are endless and unique to you and your environment. In general, hunting probably tops the list but self-defense could also enter into the equation. Since we are talking about an out-of-the-norm event, I would want to keep my selections simple and would consider the track record of reliability with my chosen gun, whether by reputation, personal experience, or better yet, both. Confidence in the firearms systemincluding accessories and ammunitionas well as my ability to use them well, is critical. Efficiency of operation, basic field maintenance, and ease of transport are also points to consider. |

Unsurprisingly, Biden either doesnt know what hes talking about or he does and doesnt care that hes spreading lies. While weve seen numerous abortive attempts over the years to bring the technology to market, recent ones involve technologies relying on fingerprint recognition, bracelets and rings, and embedded RFID chips. If DNA is to be added into the mix, it would be interesting to see that idea fleshed out, including how the sample will be extracted and then analyzed to allow for immediate firing by authorized users under all conceivable real-world conditions. |

Several years ago, Nick Bronsozian was charged with possession of an unregistered machinegun under a tax law statute. The provision in question, 26 U.S.C. 5861(d), says that in order to have a machinegun registered, a tax must be paid on it. Simple enough, right? Bronsozian didnt pay his tax. Case closed. Thats what the government argued anyway, but the situation is more complicated than that.
A subsequently enacted law, 18 U.S.C. 922(o), prevents the government from registering and accepting tax payments on new machineguns. So Bronsozian was charged and convicted of a felony for not paying a tax that the government would not allow him to pay. If that strikes you as odd, its probably because youve read the Constitution. |

Rainess predicament is nothing new in the marijuana-policy debate in America. What is relatively new is the venue and the players involved: a conservative state, and conservative-championed military veterans.
To tell Texans you cant purchase a firearm if you have a compassionate use card is unconscionable, Rachel Malone, the Texas director of firearms advocacy group Gun Owners for America, told the Dallas Morning News. We should not force people to choose between gun ownership and taking care of themselves. |

Colonel Jeff Cooper, founder of Gunsite Academy, often told the story of an acquaintance in South America who stepped out of his front door to see three armed men running towards him at close range. Coopers friend quickly drew his pistol and took down all three attackers. As I recall the story, he did this before any of the three men could get a shot off. |

On June 20th, the Maine Legislature adjourned from the first session of the 129th Legislature. During this session, several egregious pieces of anti-gun legislation were defeated, including bills to criminalize private transfers of firearms and ban many commonly-owned standard capacity magazines. Thwarting efforts to threaten shooting ranges, the Legislature instead took steps to protect ranges, passing a bill that Governor Janet Mills signed into law. Unfortunately, the Legislature missed an opportunity to pass a Stand Your Ground measure, LD 533, that would have strengthened Mainers fundamental right to self-defense anywhere they are legally allowed to be. |

Pasted below is a list of many of (not all) of Montana Shooting Sports Association's political successes, done on behalf of Montana gun owners. No other pro-gun political entity in the US, heck in the World, has the exemplary string of successes that Montana Shooting Sports Association can claim.
So, when you exhort your friends to join MSSA and they ask why, offer them this list. Tell them that the MSSA is the primary gun rights advocacy group in the State working on behalf of all Montana gun owners. |

The government of the United Kingdom just garnered its first conviction in an exciting new field of oppression.
It nailed a man for making a 3-D printed gun.
As AFP reports, in October of 2017, London police invaded the apartment of Tendai Muswere, a 26 year-old student from Zimbabwe studying in England. Searching for marijuana, the police claim they found the components for an evil inanimate object, a 3-D printed gun capable of firing one shot. |

The Virginian-Pilot reports Yancey wants to bring a federal procedure to the state level that would crack down on illegal firearms trading. The national procedure, called Rule 35, encourages prisoners to tell police if they know who's selling stockpiles of stolen guns. According to the federal policy, if those offenders then give police information that could bring the criminals to justice, a judge could slash the inmates' sentences. |

Instead, the gathering was an embarrassingly lame example of either extremely poor planning or rank disinterest in anything the individual had to say. With sun breaking through the clouds, accompanied by typical Northern Virginia heat and humidity, the crowd topped out at 18 individuals during the height of the event. This does not include the individual himself or a small contingent of reporters, but it does include his own staff and others who actually accompanied him to the site. |
