The Seattle P-I.com is reporting that Atlanta police officers called out sick to protest the filing of murder charges against an officer who shot a man in the back, while in the Jet City, protestersmany of whom have taken control of several blocks on Capitol Hillare demanding that the city defund the police.
Second Amendment activists have long advised anyone who will listen that if the only police should have guns mentality were to prevail, the U.S. would become a police state.

These last few weeks, the Arbalest Quarrel has been working steadfastly on analyzing the NYC gun transport case. We felt a detailed analysis necessary as we had serious doubts the Court would grant cert in any of the ten pending Second Amendment cases. The NYC case provided our best chance for a serious Court review of 2A, ten years after the McDonald decision. |

As a younger man with infinitely more free time, I was obsessed with whatever latest and great caliber/gun/optic came out. I would drool over pixelated videos of SHOT Show longing to attend and dreaming of a day when I could afford such marvels of modern engineering. But as a poor college student, I would reason to myself that these high-ticket firearms werent worth the cost of admission. That their advancements were too minor to justify the difference in price between them and more budget-friendly AR-15s like those from Palmetto State Armory.

The popularity of the lead flat nose is hard to beat if youre looking for a great match shooting round or a general target shooting bullet type. The flat nose makes it easier to see exactly where your bullet penetrated a paper target, which makes for much easier scoring, as the hole is cleaner with less radial tearing. Flat-nosed ammunition tends to have a lighter load of powder, so they dont often give you the same velocity as their lead round nose bullet cousins. |

First introduced in 1953, the Colt Trooper was a six-shot revolver that had a lot of style and remained in production for over 30 years. Borrowing the companys standard E-frame double-action revolver format from the Colt Officers Model, the Trooper was, when it was first introduced, something of an entry-level multi-purpose .38 Special. Complete with adjustable Accro-style rear sights and a quick-draw front ramp it was marketed towards police use, hence the name. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
To have no proud monarch driving over me with his gilt coaches; nor his host of excise-men and tax-gatherers insulting and robbing me; but to be my own master, my own prince and sovereign, gloriously preserving my national dignity, and pursuing my true happiness; planting my vineyards, and eating their luscious fruits; and sowing my fields, and reaping the golden grain: and seeing millions of brothers all around me, equally free and happy as myself. This, sir, is what I long for. -- General Francis Marion, American War of Independence, Georgetown, SC [Source: 'Marion, The Life of Gen. Francis Marion' by M. L. Weems, Ch.18] |
