A slew of 911 callers phoned into the Eaton County Sheriff's Office, reporting a man walking down the middle of West Saginaw Highway in Delta Township, Mich., firing a handgun and pointing it at cars driving by. The incident came to a head when the 26-year-old suspect stepped in front of a 22-year-old man's car as he drove east on the highway. The gunman pointed his handgun at the driver, causing the 22-year-old licensed concealed-carry holder to step out of the vehicle, draw his own gun and shoot the gunman. |

Gun owners are by now used to being disappointed with the U.S. Supreme Courts refusal to uphold their rights or even to defend its own Second Amendment precedents. But the courts neglect reached a new low last Monday, with its sweeping decision to deny review of the many Second Amendment cases pending on its docket. At issue were 10 petitions that offered the court opportunities to clarify the most important and contentious issues in the modern Second Amendment landscape, controversies that in some cases have led to radically different approaches by public officials and the lower courts.

After recessing due to the COVID-19 crisis, the legislature is back at it pushing gun control. The Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a hearing on Thursday, June 25th at 10 a.m. to consider HB 1902 and HB 2744. The Capitol is closed to the public at this time so the committee will only be accepting written testimony.

One thing to remember when legislation is introduced its never just about what the stated goal is. You need to not only look at the text of the legislation but also who introduced it. Otherwise, it becomes very easy to walk into a trap that could cost us our rights.

As we reported earlier, Chokwe Lumumba, the mayor of Jackson, Mississippi, announced an executive order on April 24 as part of his response to the COVID-19 civil emergency. The order prohibited the carrying of an unconcealed loaded or unloaded pistol or revolver or any other firearm, carried upon the person or in a sheath, belt holster or shoulder holster or in a purse, handbag, satchel, other similar bag or briefcase or fully enclosed case, with such pistol, revolver, or firearm being wholly or partially visible..

I have had conversations with gun owners from time to time who dont want to get involved in the gun rights movement. Two reasons stand out from my interaction with them. One is lethargy, often associated with the notion that they are not after my kind of gun. The other is a fear of being a target of radical gun prohibitionists enforcing some sort of gun ban. I will address each of these here, pointing out possible flaws with each position. |

One of the arguments we gun folks enjoy arguing about (and theres quite a few or a million) is whether or not binary triggers are practical, or even worth the money? Well in my not so humble opinion: those are all moot right now! Why? you ask, because finally Franklin Armory is doing what they should have done from the very beginning: Theyre releasing a binary trigger that works on the Ruger 10/22 platform: Boom! Or I should say Boom Boom!

Our Establishment is revolting in fact, it stinks on ice. What you see out there is our alleged betters struggling mightily to hold onto the power that we Normal people dared to wrest away from them in 2016. One component of their campaign is the burning and looting information operation conducted by black-clad pawns. The other component is the soft power corporate/media/cultural conspiracy to silence dissent and enforce fearful conformity to their narrative.

As the Supreme Court nears the end of its 2019-2020 term, it is becoming increasingly questionable whether the conservative majority that Trump appointees Gorsuch and Kavanaugh were supposed to have ushered in actually exists. Ever since his legally convoluted majority opinion upholding Obamacare against serious constitutional challenge eight years ago, Chief Justice John Roberts has provided conservatives plenty of reason to suspect he is not the conservative jurist in whom many had pinned hopes. However, a handful of decisions by the Court in the past two months have raised new red flags that the problems with the conservative majority run deeper than a single jurist. |

There is nothing new about appendix carry for weaponry. Look at portraits of 16th Century Caribbean pirates, or perhaps Colonial-era commanding officers, and you will see flintlock pistols stuffed in waistbands forward of the hips. Carrying guns in this position was also done quite often in the much-acclaimed Wild West. While all of the cool guys running Glock 19s in wedged AIWB holsters think they are onto something cutting edge, there is nothing new under the sun.

A mans got to know his limitations, Executive Editor Tom McHale recalls from Detective Dirty Harry Callahan of Magnum Force. Its good advice, he acknowledges, because sometimes you gain the most valuable experience by learning what not to do. Do-it-yourself gunsmithing can get a bad rap not many people endeavor to make adjustments to the trigger or safety of a fine 1911 without the necessary skill or know-how. |

More than two dozen bills pending in the Ohio General Assembly seek to loosen or tighten gun regulations. But none of them are likely to see any action before the Aug. 4 anniversary of the Dayton Oregon District shooting since House members left Columbus for summer break and the Ohio Senate has just two session days scheduled in July. .
