When Joe Biden announced his Comprehensive Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Gun Crime and Ensure Public Safety, he resurrected a claim made previouslyand debunked by fact checkersthat, The Second Amendment, from the day it was passed, limited the type of people who could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own. You couldnt buy a cannon. That is not true and by now his handlers should know it.

The Senate Judiciary reached a stalemate Thursday morning on Joe Bidens nomination of David Chipman to head the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as the vote was 11 for (Democrats) and 11 against (Republicans) following some fiery rhetoric on why the gun control advocate is not suited to run the firearms regulatory agency.
Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the grassroots Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, issued a statement.

Whether it's wanting better accuracy or more power, inspiration for a new design in ammunition can come from many different sources and the result can be a significant advancement in cartridge design. For the .458 Lott, the inspiration was a near death encounter in Africa. Gun writer Jacques "Jack" Lott was hunting Cape buffalo with a .458 Winchester Magnum. He shot the buffalo, but could not stop it before it injured him. He returned from Africa on a quest to find or develop a cartridge more suitable for taking dangerous game.

Today, the House could hear Senate Bill 6, to ban most ammunition magazines in common use. You may view the agenda here. Please click the button below to ask your state representative to OPPOSE SB 6. Senate Bill 6, the so-called Delaware Large Capacity Magazine Prohibition Act, bans possessing magazines with a capacity greater than seventeen rounds of ammunition, including those that may readily be converted over that capacity and those with a removable floor plate or end plate, if the device can readily be extended to accept more than 17 rounds of ammunition. |

President Joe Biden delivered much-anticipated remarks on crime Wednesday. The president, whose party has suffered politically from some Democrats' embrace of "defund the police" rhetoric, was under pressure to address soaring violent crime rates in some of the nation's largest -- and bluest -- cities. But he didn't have much to say. |

The Supreme Courts term is not yet over, but it is not too early to offer some perspective and perhaps a splash of cold water on some of the melodramatic recent commentary on the supposedly deep divisions on the Court. Perhaps the most prominent was Adam Liptaks commentary on Friday alleging that the right side of the court is badly fractured and its liberal members are having a surprisingly good run. |

I remember what it felt like the first time I had my sense of newly built security ripped from me. I had just turned 19. I was so young. I was just a kid. Like most young people, I never thought that it could happen to me. At the time I was in the military, living off base in Missouri with a female roommate. After about a week of noticing things were off in the house (the back door would be unlocked, then open physically, etc.) I brought it up at work. |

The Idaho Fish & Game Commission officially expanded wolf hunting and trapping opportunities last Thursday to align with the controversial new law, SB1211, which has been widely reported as a green light to kill 90 percent of the states wolvesa claim that, in turn, has been widely disputed. One thing seems clear: Commissioners were not happy about the process. According to an article in the Spokesman-Review, Commissioner Brad Corkill, who was chair at the time, said he was notified less than 24 hours before the Legislature voted on the bill.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation recently found the population in southwest Oklahoma is reduced as much as 70% to 80% from three to four years ago. In 2019, Taurus International made the business decision to set aside the company's more unusual and exotic offerings. Instead, the team focused their efforts on improving product quality, manufacturing consistency and continuing to offer reliable handgun options that meet their customers needs at affordable prices. Among the top offerings of that year was the TX22, an innovative increased capacity .22 LR pistol.

Springfield Armory has been churning out butt-kicking guns since 1974. Their catalog launched with such staples as the M1A and 1911 and has steadily evolved ever since. Modern offerings include the expansive line of XD-series pistols, the Saint and M1A families of black rifles, and the superlative Hellcat high-capacity micro-compact concealed carry gun. In 2020 they even launched their own line of bolt-action precision rifles. Ive rolled in the dirt with scads of Springfield Armory weapons and have yet to have a stoppage, at all, not once, ever.

With a 71-page proposed rule to clarify when attached stabilizing brace accessories convert pistols into illegal short-barreled rifles now open for public comment, we disastrously attempted to apply it. In a test with a pair of unloaded large-format AR-style pistols, Guns.com's Chris Eger and Ben Philippi tried to honestly wade through the minefield of potential disqualifiers on proposed ATF Form 4999 to determine if a pistol/brace combos selected-- which are legal now-- would continue to be so should the rule goes into effect as-is.

The Warthog knife sharpener might look like a Rube Goldberg machine or an 18th century torture device but trust me, it will shock you with effectiveness! When I got the press release regarding this contraption, I responded with, This thing looks complicated, does it work and is it simple enough for a gun writer to operate? The company responded claiming it does indeed work as promised and was so simple even I, a practicing journalist, could use it effectively. Im not from Missouri, but I said, Show Me!

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
...If a man lies under oath or procures the lie of another under oath, if he perjures himself or suborns perjury, he is guilty under the statute law. Under the higher law, under the great law of morality and righteousness, he is precisely as guilty if, instead of lying in a court, he lies in a newspaper or on the stump; and in all probability, the evil effects of his conduct are infinitely more widespread and more pernicious. Teddy Roosevelt - May 12, 1900 |
