... "If a politician isn't comfortable with any individual being able to walk into a hardware store, pay cash for any firearm without producing identification or signing a single scrap of paper (and that individual being able to carry that protection concealed or open), then that politician does not support freedom. Gun-control laws only disarm potential victims, thus creating a safe work environment for criminals - kind of like an OSHA for felons." ... |

"The primary organizing principle of libertarianism is and must remain the rejection of initiated force. But the rejection of force does not imply that all voluntary organizing principles are equally effective and desirable. Individual action to further freedom needs no coordination or organization. If you see an opportunity to advance freedom that doesn't require anyone's assistance, just do it! Seeking a request, permission, blessing, or title from others for such activity is a total waste of time and energy." ... |

... "To describe this film as dishonest and demagogic would almost be to promote those terms to the level of respectability. To describe this film as a piece of crap would be to run the risk of a discourse that would never again rise above the excremental. To describe it as an exercise in facile crowd-pleasing would be too obvious. Fahrenheit 9/11 is a sinister exercise in moral frivolity, crudely disguised as an exercise in seriousness. It is also a spectacle of abject political cowardice masking itself as a demonstration of 'dissenting' bravery." ... |

"The gun went off, sending a single bullet into the outside steps leading to the door. No one was hurt."
"Coincidentally, the May 28 incident happened just two days after a Baldwin County grand jury blamed an Alabama state trooper's gun for a fatal shooting that occurred on the Causeway."
"Not coincidentally, said District Attorney David Whetstone, Trooper Angel Rodriguez and Witherington had the same kind of weapon -- a Glock pistol with a 5-pound "trigger pull."
