Imagine a devastating earthquake and tsunami have cut off Pacific Northwest coastal communities. Phone and internet service have collapsed. Ham-radio operators living on the stricken coast fire up their radios, contact emergency managers and report on the magnitude of the disaster so that no time is wasted in saving lives.
This is the kind of scenario that will be rehearsed during the second week of June in a massive earthquake and tsunami readiness drill that has been developed by the U.S. government, the military, and state and local emergency managers over the past few years to test their readiness for what when it strikes will likely be the nations worst natural calamity.

OBAMA: The notion that I, or Hillary or Democrats or whoever you want to choose, are hell-bent on taking away folks guns is just not true. And I dont care how many times the NRA says it. Im about to leave office. There have been more guns sold since Ive been president than just about any time in U.S. history. There are enough guns for every man, woman and child in this country. And at no point have I ever, ever proposed confiscating guns from responsible gun owners. So its just not true.
He must be forgetting about when he and Hillary advocated for a plan like Australia. Where they did gun buy-backs, confiscations and prevent gun ownership for self defense. |

As gun control groups rally around Hillary Clinton, the National Rifle Association (NRA) on Friday expressed concerns about the Democratic presidential front-runner.
The Second Amendment is on the ballot this November, the NRAs top lobbyist Chris Cox said Friday.
Gun control groups are endorsing Hillary Clinton because they believe that she will work to eliminate individual gun ownership in this country, Cox added.

Formally trained people are the only ones who should own firearms (like those who participate in the Pennsylvania Guard). Anyone who believes that their weapon is going to protect their home from criminals is living a TV fantasy. The vast majority of civilians will freeze the moment they are faced with a dangerous situation. Those people who are walking around with concealed carry permits are just plain ignorant. They will be slow on the draw and dead before their weapon even leaves its hiding place. |

Another day, another possible instance of selective editingthis time by HBOs Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel over a segment on the AR-15 rifle. It aired on May 24, where Real Sports David Scott interviewed the rifles designer, Jim Sullivan, who appeared to say that the civilian AR-15 and the military-issue M16 were equivalent in their lethality. Apparently, thats not the point he was conveying at the time, and wrote about his grievances over the interview conducted by HBO in The Federalist: |

But thats not the worst thing that happened with the making of this documentary. It turns out that Courics production team deliberately conspired to violate federal gun laws. According to video obtained by Ammoland, a shooting sports news website, one of Courics producers deliberately committed at least four separate felonies by purchasing four separate firearms across state lines without a background check.
In the video, Soechtig openly admits that she directed one of her employees to purchase guns across state lines, and that he absolutely followed her orders: |

The social media masses began questioning our current gun laws, wanting to know what we can do to keep something like this from happening in the future.
The answer is simple.
Stop leaving law-abiding citizens unarmed. Creating gun-free zones and safe places, in theory, is supposed to keep tragedies like this from happening, but it doesnt.
UCLA. Northern Arizona University. Umpqua Community College. All of these shootings happened in declared gun-free zones, and what happened? People were hurt and or killed on their college campus. As is the case with the most recent shooting on UCLA, early reports indicate that the alleged shooter, had a kill list and is possibly linked to another shooting death in Minnesota. |

Katie Couric isnt the only journalist whose bona fides on gun issues are in the sewer.
Writing for the Gannett news empires #2 rag, The Arizona Republic, columnist E.J. Montini, a talented, prolific but virulently biased gun-hating writer may have set a record for the greatest number of anti-rights gun myths in one short article, at 11.
Because his paper does not allow rebuttals or even meaningful error corrections, Montini gets away with murder, figuratively speaking. Couric got caught with evidence. This writer got caught with stubborn thingsfacts.

There is no doubt that pump-action shotguns are a viable self-defense option due to the manual, simplistic and almost fail-safe operation they employ. However, some shooters wind up shying away from the scattergun because of the difficulty in reloading it quicklysomething that is even more frustrating during high-stress situations. Adaptive Tactical, LLC, has devised a solution in the form of a detachable-box magazine kit for the Mossberg Model 500, 590 and Maverick 88 shotguns. |

All too predictably, less than 24 hours after a murder-suicide occurred at UCLA, the usual suspects came out in full force.
The body of poor William Klug, the 39 year-old professor and father of two who was mercilessly slaughtered by a disgruntled former student, was still warm when ideologues began waxing indignant over the lack of gun-control. |

First it was deceptive edits and now it looks like Katie Courics producers for Under the Gun may have broken gun laws. According to The Federalists Sean Davis it appears Courics director Stephanie Soechtig admitted to violating federal law.
On Friday, Davis reported: It turns out that Courics production team deliberately conspired to violate federal gun laws. According to video obtained by Ammoland, a shooting sports news website, one of Courics producers deliberately committed at least four separate felonies by purchasing four separate firearms across state lines without a background check. |

As an author, columnist, radio talk show host, and pastor who is outspoken in my support of the Second Amendment, I often receive inquiries from people asking for my personal preferences regarding firearms. This column will be devoted to sharing my thoughts on the various types of firearms in an attempt to help readers who may be new or even foreign to the use of firearms. I trust that some of these remarks will inspire people to become more familiar with the different types of firearms that are available and, hopefully, motivate people to take a closer look at those firearms that might be beneficial to them personally. |

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports this week (5/21/2016) in Monticello, Georgia that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into a fatal shooting by a local resident.
A wheelchair-bound Vietnam veteran, age 69, was at home on Thursday about 9 p.m. Thats when an intruder, age 22, apparently forced his way into the home through a rear door.
When the resident went to investigate the noise, the young intruder lunged at him. The vet fired a shot hitting the intruder once in the chest. The intruder then fled but collapsed about 100 yards away from the residence. |
