Despite what one may read in most gun magazines, in this part of the country anyway, revolvers are still quite popular for backcountry carry and social work. Consider the old saw, Six for certain, and youll understand our attachment.
Theyre reliable, strong, intuitively easy to operate and come in a variety of assorted powerful chambering. Plus, in most cases, theyre less expensive than the magazine-fed, semi-automatics currently in vogue. But, like anything else, you get what you pay for and there are less expensive models in the dealers showcase that a person can purchase if thats what they want. |

Proud and good people hold their chins and guns up in a crisis. It is how Korean grocers responded when the police abandoned them during the Los Angeles riots in 1992. It is how armed small-business owners of all colors are now facing an onslaught of crazed, greedy, and evil barbarians hell-bent on destroying every enforcement bulwark that protects our civil society from our borders to our neighborhoods to the White House. |

Petitioners have turned in enough signatures to force Norfolks City Council to consider a measure that would instruct city police to effectively ignore new gun-control measures passed by the Virginia General Assembly, the lead organizer behind the petition effort said.
Such a vote is unlikely from a largely liberal council that voted this year to ask state lawmakers to give the city the right to ban guns in more public places. But the issue could ultimately be decided by voters.
Bob Brown, the chairman of Norfolks Republican Party and the lead petitioner, said his group turned in roughly 1,400 signatures to Norfolks Circuit Court clerk on Thursday, just ahead of the deadline. |

There is, indeed, a clause in English Common Law for the action of citizens arrest in which a common citizen, not a sworn law enforcement officer, can arrest and detain another citizen who is committing a crime. This practice is actually rather universal throughout the United States in its acceptance under the law, but it is hardly a practice that should be considered casually. Before proceeding to discuss some of the hazards inherent in carrying out a citizens arrest, I will say from the outset that there are relatively few scenarios where this practice should be considered. Restraining, detaining, or otherwise holding an individual against their will opens the citizen doing the arrest to all sorts of legal pitfalls. |

We are all facing tough times today, and that of course applies to our made in the USA businesses. Both sportsmen and women should consider buying only American-made products next time they need to purchase ammunition, firearms, or outdoor gear. The financial fallout from the COVID-19 virus will most likely be felt for years to come. Lets do all we can to support our home-grown businesses no matter the product.
When it comes to the shooting and outdoor industry, below is just a sampling of American companies that have excellent track records and products to boot: |

No-knock raids, which allow police officers to forcefully enter a property without prior notification, are an increasingly common tool of law enforcement throughout the United States. But a deadly no-knock raid in Louisville, which left one woman dead and her boyfriend charged with attempted murder, should motivate states to rethink the practice. |

Mayor Keith James put the order into place after the city had seen protests and public demonstrations on Sunday, May 31, that were deemed as civil unrest when confrontations with law enforcement developed in the evening. Several fires were reported, as well as damage to stores.
Obvious questions arise from the order. First, how is any of this constitutional? And what good is the Second Amendment which the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled is grounded in the concept of self-defense if it can be infringed specifically when the need for defensive action may be especially acute? |

A federal judge has denied a request by group of gun advocates seeking to force gun stores and firing ranges shuttered due to Covid-19 to open their doors.
U.S. District Court Judge Jon Tigar denied a temporary restraining order sought by lead plaintiff Janice Altman and other Second Amendment advocates, finding four Bay Area counties acted in the interest of public health when they shuttered gun stores and firing ranges in mid-March to prevent a larger outbreak of the novel coronavirus. |

A few weeks ago, I did two-a-days with dry practice. Aside from my normal practice routine with my EDC handgun, I also spent ten minutes per day with my shotgun. This had me thinking a lot about the defensive shotgun. Additionally, with the surge of gun sales in recent weeks, Im sure at least a few people are the brand-new owners of a shotgun, so I will share a few of my ruminations. |

Even as the world grows more topsy-turvy by the minute, the Supreme Courts relists this week are heavily a status quo affair. The gun cases are still there. The qualified immunity cases are still there. And the two ancient serial relists Andrus v. Texas and United States v. California inexplicably shuffle back for yet another curtain call this week, a trip theyve been making almost weekly since November 2019 and January 2020, respectively. |

Only the cops need guns simply could not live forever alongside, The cops are racist and will kill you. And so, at long last, the two circles of the Venn Diagram have filed for an amicable divorce. In the end, the differences proved irreconcilable. |
