Washington States big money gun prohibition lobby reportedly gave itself an estimated $600,000 financial boost Thursday at the annual fund raising luncheon hosted by the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (WAGR), according to the Seattle P-I.com.

The event, which is something of a gun control propaganda fest, was dominated, the report said, by talk about retribution against House Democrats in Olympia who thwarted this years pet legislation aimed at disarming an increasing number of people. The so-called Extreme Risk Protection Orders Act was so extreme that even Democrats opposed the measure enough to prevent it from becoming law.

Lewis fired his gun, injuring one of his assailants. The other fled. When police arrived, Jaya black manexplained that he shot at his aggressorstwo white menin order to defend himself.

Yet Lewis would spend the next 112 days in jail.

Council Chairman Bruce Paulus explained the ordinance addition as a way for the township to comply with the Pennsylvania Uniform Fireams Act without risking lawsuits from gun lobby groups that dispute the restrictions.

In the wake of the senseless deaths of the two esteemed police officers, Ms. Franks needs to rely on facts instead of her need for adrenaline as Hattiesburg and our state begin to heal and look toward preventing another future tragedy. The facts of this case are clear: Two of the suspects charged in the slayings of officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate were felons who were prohibited by law from possessing and carrying firearms. Stricter gun laws would not have stopped them.

Following a class discussion about a recent uptick in sexual assault in taxi cabs in Iowa City, 22-year-old photography student Taylor Yocom came up with the idea to put together a series of images, titled Guarded, displaying the various weapons carried by University of Iowa students to protect themselves.

We were just frustrated, Yocom said. If youre at a party and then you go home alone, the taxis should be safe. And if they arent, whats your next line of defense?

I want this to be the physical representation of how women deal with she was asking for it and being blamed for drinking too much, Yocom said.

According to TMZ, Wright is tired of all the haters who think shes crazy for keeping a gun near her newborn. She said calls to lock the gun up are silly, as a locked gun is hard to use for self-defense. She also reminded everyone of her right to keep and bear arms.

Pratt, who has suggested that politicians should fear being shot by GOA supporters and has flirted with the conspiracy theory that high-profile mass shootings are government staged events, was forced to leave Pat Buchanan's presidential campaign in 1996 after his past ties to white supremacists were revealed.

A new Pew Research Center report states that 52 percent of Americans support gun rights, the highest percentage in the last two decades. Yet the gun rights that they believe are guaranteed by law may very well be an illusion.

That's because we have allowed lawyers instead of language professionals to interpret the Constitution of the United States.

The measure authorizes a plate design featuring a frontiersman with a gun and the words "Battle Born" and "Protect the Second Amendment." Proceeds from sales of the plate would benefit the Nevada Firearms Commission, but they must be used for gun training or gun-safety education and not for political purposes. The plates can be produced when one of the 30 design slots for specialty plates becomes available.

Fresno Police detectives are still investigating what they're calling a home invasion shooting that resulted in a death.

The resident said he shot the victim because he walked into his home, sat on the couch and began talking crazy.

Police detectives are still investigating the shooting but the Assistant District Attorney and Fresno County Sheriff say if you own a gun, you must follow the California gun law.

"The penal code says you can use deadly force if you're actually and reasonably afraid that you are gonna be killed yourself," Steve Wright said

Something the resident at Stonegate Apartments will have to prove after shooting an intruder and killing him Thursday afternoon.

For one day, on June 13, in two locations, a Cambridge community organization will be trading gift cards for guns.

As a part of the Cambridge Safer Homes, Safer Community initiative, the public is welcome to give up their guns anonymously for a reward, according to the organizations website.

A gun in a home is 22 times more likely to be used in domestic homicides, suicides, and accidental discharges than in self-defense, the initiatives website said. Each year there are 31,000 fatalities and 74,000 firearms-related injuries across the country. Cambridge has very few gun related injuries and deaths. Lets keep our homes and our community safe.

A federal judge has dismissed a national gun control groups lawsuit against Gov. Sam Brownback over a 2013 law that creates a felony charge for individuals enforcing federal gun regulations.

Brady Campaign lacks Article III standing to challenge the Second Amendment Protection Act in this lawsuit because it has not shown that enforcement of the statute inflicts an actual or imminently-threatened injury on any Brady Campaign member, U.S. District Court Judge Julie Robinson wrote Friday.

As a result, Robinson said, the district court couldnt consider the merits of the Brady Campaigns arguments.

The Second Amendment Foundation filed a notice of appeal this morning with the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, the next step in its challenge to Initiative 594, the 18-page gun control and handgun registration scheme approved by voters in November, less than 24 hours after the Seattle P-I.com reported that the measure had survived a federal court challenge.

Not so fast, seems to be what SAF and its co-plaintiffs are saying this morning. The District Court judge in Tacoma dismissed the case on standing, without a hearing on the actual merits of the lawsuit. An appeal to the Ninth Circuit is aimed at getting a reversal, remand and hearing on the lawsuit.

James Madison wrote the Second Amendment, indeed the first draft of the entire Bill of Rights, in the late spring of 1789. His chief source was the list of 132 amendments recommended by six state ratifying conventions. His intentions were political rather than philosophical, namely to appease the reluctant rectifiers by taking their suggested limitations on federal authority seriously. None of the proposed amendments mentioned the right to bear arms. Three mentioned the fear of a standing army. The Second Amendment was designed to assure that national defense would remain in the hands of state militia, not a professional army. The right to bear arms, in Madisons mind, was not a natural right, but derived from service in the militia.

In a significant victory for Second Amendment rights, the House this week voted to let non-violent felons win back their gun rights.

Citing a grandfather who as a college student became a felon for writing a bad rent check, Colorado Republican Rep. Ken Buck said that nonviolent ex-felons should be able to apply to restore their gun rights.

"America is a land of second chances. One mistake should not define your future," he said. The House agreed on a voice vote to his amendment to the Justice appropriations bill.
