So what does this have to do with the original observation of the present American government losing its grip and losing a conflict with brother Americans on our own soil? We face conditions much different and much worse than our predecessors in terms of national debt, fiscal obligations, cultural fissures, government corruption and the precipice of totalitarian temptation are balanced on. Inevitably, when the aforementioned unpleasantness emerges, the state and federal governments will exhaust law enforcement assets and be forced to rely on military means to quell the disturbances and insurrections that will emerge. Posse Commitatus will be suspended and Northern Command will activate National Guard, Reserve and Active Duty armed forces will be unleashed on the targeted groups and forces that contest the states supremacy in the continental united States. They will face the inevitable resistance of a number of their own troops to make war on fellow Americans and the inherent risk of sleepers in the ranks who will maintain a communications link with emerging resistance forces. The government will be fighting a foe that will have a hometown advantage, levels of support & assistance from the mass base in the communities and the military forces will be surprised by the small arms expertise they will encounter the farther west they are deployed in these united States. |

Police are investigating an incident caught on video camera showing a Passaic man with a reported mental disorder repeatedly hit with a baton by a city cop, a report in The Record said.
According to the report, the camera outside Lawrence's Restaurant captured video of Officer Joseph J. Rios III throwing Ronnie Holloway, 49, to the ground, striking Holloway with his fist, then hitting him with his baton while he lied on his back on a street corner on May 29. Holloway was arrested after the incident and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and wandering with the intent to purchase narcotics, the report said.

A spate of recent shootings and drug busts here highlights a trend: Police are seeing illegal firearms -- often from the United States -- more frequently in this industrial port town.
"We are turning up a lot of weapons, whether it be a long gun or a handgun," says Saint John Police Sgt. Mike McCaig, who coordinates investigations for the Fundy Integrated Intelligence Unit. "It's a serious situation."
The situation might not be as dire as the frequent gun battles taking place in Mexico, where thousands of guns from the U.S. are being used in a drug war. But Canadian authorities say they're also scrambling to stanch the flow of illegal weapons from the U.S.
Submitter's note: Now the Canadians are jumping on the Mexican bandwagon. |

Gov. David A. Paterson's proposal requiring criminal background checks every five years for lifetime pistol permit holders unfairly targets gun owners and places an undue burden on counties, some north country officials say. "I'm too thinly staffed to keep up with the workload that will come with it," St. Lawrence County Clerk Patricia A. Ritchie said. "We're never going to be able to keep up with it with the system we have. It's going to require more staff, which will result in higher local costs. It's going to be a big burden on the county." |

AMID THE media frenzy and speculation over the disappearance of Air France's ill-fated Flight 447, the loss of two of the world's most prominent figures in the war on the illegal arms trade and international drug trafficking has been virtually overlooked.
Pablo Dreyfus, a 39-year-old Argentine who was travelling with his wife Ana Carolina Rodrigues aboard the doomed flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, had worked tirelessly with the Brazilian authorities to stem the flow of arms and ammunition that for years has fuelled the bloody turf wars waged by drug gangs in Rio's sprawling favelas.
Also travelling with Dreyfus on the doomed flight was his friend and colleague Ronald Dreyer, a Swiss diplomat and co-ordinator of the Geneva Declaration on Armed Violence who had worked with UN missions in El Salvador, Mozambique, Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Angola. Both men were consultants at the Small Arms Survey, an independent think tank based at Geneva's Graduate Institute of International Studies. The Survey said on its website that Dryer had helped mobilise the support of more than 100 countries to the cause of disarmament and development. |

I despise the obsession with race that is forced upon us by the nanny state. I'm always having to fill out these forms that ask my race. Liberals are so fixated on race that they would make a Nazi Gauleiter proud.
Nowadays . . . I put an asterisk in the "race" box and at the bottom or along the margin I write this:
"No, not so much anymore. I'm too old, fat and out-of-shape to win."
Ed.: While this is a bit off-topic, I like Mike's article, so I'm going to exercise my editorial fiat. :-) `cat complaints > /dev/null` |

Thirteen killed at an immigration center in New York. Eight at a nursing home in North Carolina. Five in a house in California. These were among the 57 people killed in mass shootings in a 30-day period this spring in the U.S. Meanwhile, new laws are easing restrictions on guns.
Congress recently approved a bill to allow guns in national parks. Tennessee has passed similar measures for its state parks. In South Carolina, a bill under debate would allow weapons on school grounds. Texas may welcome guns into bars. In Montana, a new law requires landlords and hotel owners to allow firearms on their premises.

On Tuesday June 9th, 2009, the Democratic Primary will be held in the great Commonwealth of Virginia. The Democratic candidates vying for their partys nomination to run for governor are former Democratic National Committee chairman and Clinton insider Terry McAuliffe, State Delegate Brian Moran and State Senator Creigh (pronounced CREE) Deeds.
Because of the significant gun rights issues raised by these particular candidates, OpenCarry.org has taken the unprecedented step of endorsing Delegate Moran in the Democratic primary and encouraging Republicans, Libertarians and Independents to cross the aisle and vote in the Democratic primary. |

New York State Senate Bill 4397 Sponsored by Liberal Pinhead NY State Senator Eric Schneiderman Requires semiautomatic pistols manufactured or delivered to any licensed dealer in New York State to be capable of micro-stamping ammunition and establishes fines for violations of this requirement. It seems to me that Senator Eric Schneiderman has been watching way to many Science Fiction movies like Judge Dread. In the movie Judge Dread starring Sylvester Stallone the Peacekeeper multi function firearm imprinted the users DNA profile on all ammunition fired by the weapon. Now Schneidermans bill does not go this far, I am sure he would like it to. |

After he was named in a six-count felony indictment that accused him of carrying a handgun in 2007, Shawn Gaston was told by a judge he would have to meet several conditions as part of his sentence of probation.
But early last Monday, Gaston, 20, allegedly armed himself with a handgun and fired onto an Englewood street to avenge a gang-related shooting. Chicago Police Officer Alejandro "Alex' Valadez, , was struck in the head and killed.
"These violent criminals received little or no penalty for their violent acts, Donahue said the level of frustration among officers is so high because probation violators are before judges each day without serious consequence. |

Just two weeks before young Chicago Police Officer Alex Valadez was shot down on the edge of a vacant South Side lot, his alleged killer, Shawn Gaston, was in court, accused of another probation violation on a felony gun charge.
That's right, another probation violation.
It wasn't Gaston's first alleged violation of probation. It wasn't his second. It was his third, Cook County prosecutors confirmed late last week.

Surveillance video shows a Passaic, New Jersey, police officer beating a 49-year-old man standing idly on a street corner. The beating was captured on surveillance cameras outside Lawrence's Grill and Bar in Passaic, New Jersey.
Surveillance tape from Lawrence's Grill and Bar in Passaic on May 29 shows a police car pull up to Ronnie Holloway, who is standing still on the curb outside the restaurant. After a few moments Holloway zips up his sweatshirt -- because the female officer in the car instructed him to do so, Holloway said.
At that point, the other officer in the vehicle, Joseph R. Rios III, exits the car, grabs Holloway and slams him onto the hood of the police car. He then pummels Holloway with his fist and baton.
Holloway said he had exchanged no words with the officer before he pounced on him. |

His service weapon, a .40 caliber Glock automatic, "accidentally discharged" while Lajoie was securing it, said department spokesman Capt. Thomas Wendel.
"At this time, there is no criminal aspect to this incident," Wendel said.
The department's Office of Professional Standards will investigate whether Lajoie violated any policies and procedures, and an armorer will inspect the Glock to determine if it malfunctioned.
Lt. Edward Lopes, internal affairs officer, said he spoke to Lajoie on the phone Thursday morning after learning about the incident.
"He was sore, but he'll be OK," Lopes said.
Lopes said Lajoie told him that he was "sitting there having a cup of coffee" when the gun went off. |

Democrats are looking down the barrel of a gun as they vie to keep their power in Washington.
Poised after last year's election to push back against the National Rifle Association's heavy firepower, the Democrats have in rapid order conceded ground on the gun issue. They've allowed concealed-carry weapons in national parks, considered easing gun restrictions in the District of Columbia, and turned back a campaign pledge on gun-record transparency.

Niccol Machiavelli, who was a sort of Karl Rove of his day, though with more integrity, said of the Swiss that they were "the most free and most armed people" of Europe. Get it? The connection between arms and freedom?
That statement is still true of the Swiss. Many people know that they practice neutrality, but not many know that they practice armed neutrality. If the gun controllers' claim that the mere presence of arms leads to mayhem were true, the Swiss would have wiped themselves out years ago. There are guns and gun ranges all over the place. You would be hard-pressed to find a Swiss home without a firearm and ammunition. Yet, the Swiss have a very low crime rate.
