The jacketed hollow point (JHP) is designed to expand rapidly when hitting its target, which increases the effectiveness of the bullet and decreases the chances of over-penetration. Jacketed hollow points come in a massive variety, separated by shape, design or simply the company that manufactures them. When comparing JHP vs. HP, some jacketed hollow points will look just like traditional hollow points, but will be obviously coated. Others will have a more advanced and high-tech appearance. The nose is coated in a harder metal, helping prevent lead issues in your gun as well as the air and ground. The coating also helps this type of ammunition function better in automatic feeding pistols and rifles.

Non-stop news coverage of riots in major cities across the country have suddenly underscored the importance and relevance of the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, guaranteeing the ability of private citizens to protect their lives, property, neighborhood businesses and one another from violent anarchists.
Gun sales have spiked upward an estimated 80 percent over the same period last year. New data from the National Shooting Sports Foundation suggests that some 40 percent of all gun buyers in recent weeks were first-timers. Theyve been purchasing semi-auto pistols, semiautomatic modern sporting rifles and shotguns, in that order of preference. |

Writing at Reason.com Friday, author J.D. Tuccille makes an argument that this is the year gun control died, but considering the activism behind National Gun Violence Awareness Dayalso on Friday when gun prohibition activists are supposed to wear orangethe Reason article might be wishful thinking.
The gun prohibition lobby isnt going anywhere. For example, the Seattle-based Alliance for Gun Responsibility has been touting Gun Violence Awareness Day. This is the seventh annual observance. The Alliance is primarily bankrolled by billionaires and other wealthy elitists. This is the day they ask people to wear orange. |

The below letter appeared in the August 1944 issue, which featured NRA Life Member Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower on the cover. |

The police chief of Lowell, Michigan, was forced to resign Thursday after using a Facebook post to praise four citizens who armed themselves to oppose looters. WOOD reports Chief Steven Bukala posted a photo of the four armed citizens and wrote, So these fine young men called me today. They wanted to exercise their Second Amendment rights and walk down Main Street. They saw what happened in Grand Rapids. They said its not going to happen here. We have your backs. I thanked them for letting me know they were in town and to call if they see something.

"Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." Martin Luther King, Strength to Love. Witnessing the suffocating demise of George Floyd, the vast majority of us do not simply react with horror. We look and conclude, here's a real problem. How does one man, prone on the ground, surrounded by four police officers, require submission by a nine minute neck compress? How does he not receive respite as he begs for the right to breath free of airway constriction? How do three other police officers tolerate that use of force? |

Vermont governor Phil Scott announced on June 5 that social distancing requirements would not be enforced against Black Lives Matter (BLM) protesters at coming events because they are exercising "their constitutional rights." The governor's stunning epiphany means he has finally come to comprehend that in Vermont, the United States Constitution actually does apply! This is great news for Vermonters in almost all past decisions, the governor has demonstrated a total obliviousness, if not hostility, to citizens' rights. |

Much attention gets focused on federal and state legislation. This is very understandable, as that legislation can come with some serious penalties. But local laws also matter, especially when people need to be in a certain locality for professional reasons. Often, these have been dealt with by preemption laws, something the National Rifle Association worked hard to get passed over the years.

Despite record numbers of firearm purchases over the past three months, a global pandemic, and civil unrest, news reports suggest that violent crime is down. Naturally, gun control advocates are taking advantage of the ongoing pandemic and the current protests to call for more of their pet priorities. We know that none of these will help prevent crime. The prescriptions needed for real reform to address the underlying social problems arent found in public health journals. They are found in criminal justice research. |

Florida sheriff says hes encouraging gun-toting residents to shoot looters who break into homes, ClickOrlando.com reported Tuesday. The message is clear: If you come here to peaceably assemble and protest, were gonna make sure we protect your constitutional right to do that and we encourage it, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a video statement.
