You hear banging at your front door. It is 6:30 on a Friday morning, and you wonder if one of your grandchildren is playing a prank on you, or maybe one of them is in trouble. You move toward the door when you see a stranger rip the outer screen door from your doorway. Now he smashes the glass panel in your front door and reaches in to turn the knob. You shout for him to stop, but he opens the door and comes inside.

In what Daughtry characterized as an apparent act of self-defense, the man then shot her multiple times. She was taken to a hospital in the city of Jackson. Her condition was not released.

Barrett is likely to be a crucial and possibly a deciding vote on two huge cases on hot-button culture war issues: abortion and guns. How she rules on those cases will illustrate the kind of justice she is and will be, and could end up becoming an enormous part of her legacy and the courts.

Lewis County is inching toward becoming a Second Amendment sanctuary, joining a growing number of jurisdictions trying to fend off potential firearm restrictions with non-binding declarations.

And if Lewis County commissioners do go forward with what would be a symbolic resolution, it would fall in line with at least five local cities. Winlock, Morton, Mossyrock, Toledo and Napavine have all passed their own local Second Amendment proclamations.

Three men have filed suit in an effort to have their firearm identification cards restored.

Plaintiffs Danny Rauschkolb, Jeffrey B. Bridges, and Timothy Hartweger have named Gregory Hacker, chief of the Illinois State Police firearms services. Also named is States Attorney Thomas, only in his official capacity and not accused of wrongdoing.

The suit states that Rauschkolb lost his license as a result of a pending felony charge. The charge was dismissed or otherwise resolved, the suit states.

He has asked for his license to be returned but to no avail, the suit states. The lack of action by the state police has violated his rights under the second and 14th amendments, Rauschkolb claims.

Jasper County could become the first county in Iowa to designate itself a Second Amendment Sanctuary.

This means the county wouldnt enforce gun laws deemed unconstitutional.

The resolution proclaims the Jasper County Sheriffs Office or any other county employee cannot enforce a federal or state order that, infringes upon the constitutionally protected natural right of the people of Jasper County to keep and bear arms.

I recently participated in a conference on the application of legal corpus linguistics to the Second Amendment, a topic I've long wanted to make up my mind about. My tentative conclusion is that the corpus linguistics evidence does not undermine much of the Supreme Court's opinion in DC v. Heller. As part of the conference I have a blog post, Heller Survives the Corpus, at the Second Thoughts Blog, hosted by the Duke Center for Firearms Law.

During an address at a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) event in Dallas on Friday, the former presidents eldest son said that Bidens ATF nominee, David Chipman, worked actively for the anti-gun lobby.

A California judge decided victims of a 2019 synagogue shooting near San Diego that killed one worshiper and wounded three can sue the manufacturer of the semiautomatic rifle and the gun shop that sold it to the teenage gunman, according to a newspaper report.

Superior Court Judge Kenneth Medel said Wednesday that victims and families in the Poway, California, synagogue shooting have adequately alleged that Smith & Wesson, the nation's largest gunmaker, knew its AR-15-style rifle could be easily modified into a machine-gun-like or an assault weapon in violation of state law.

While the legacy media is quick to sensationalize every incident involving misuse of firearms, they just as quickly downplay or completely dismiss reports of lawful self-defense with firearms, and the Second Amendment Foundation is openly challenging the establishment press to explain why.

Coloradans since last year have bought guns at such a rapid pace that gun store owners struggled to keep their shelves stocked.

Bristlecone Shooting, Training and Retail Center in Lakewood generally carries several hundred guns at any time, but during the pandemic, the shops stock sometimes dropped to as few as 10, co-owner Jacquelyn Clark said. The stores supply of guns has improved, but its still limiting how much ammunition people can buy.

The use of an ankle holster for concealed carry of a subcompact or ultra-compact handgun as a primary carry firearm can be a divisive topic for some.

Many self-defense experts will advise that it is difficult to draw an ankle gun quickly without considerable practice, and it will always be awkward from a standing position.

Days after a bizarre armed highway standoff in Massachusetts involving a group called Rise Of The Moors, prosecutors face an unusual problem: at least two of the 11 defendants in the case refuse to identify themselves.

I am a free Moor, a national, a free, living man, one unidentified defendant told a judge during his arraignment on Tuesday.

The testimony was faux-legal nonsense. But in some seemingly widening circles, this jargon verges on religion. Over the past year, from Massachusetts to Washington, a growing slate of court officials and bystanders have found themselves muddling through conspiratorial legalese from people who claim to be Moors.

Yesterday, several Louisiana Sheriffs stood with liberal democratic Governor John Bel Edwards against your Second Amendment rights. They believe it is more important to go to Baton Rouge for a photo-op with the Governor, than to be in their own parishes doing their job.

NRA members are particularly disappointed in Sheriff Craig Webre of Lafourche Parish, Sheriff Sid Gautreaux of East Baton Rouge Parish, Sheriff Marlin Gusman of Orleans Parish, and Sheriff Willy Marin of St. James Parish for not only showing up at this photo-op, but speaking out against Louisianans right to keep and bear arms and your right to self-defense.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The right of the people to keep and bear arms has been recognized by the General Government; but the best security of that right after all is, the military spirit, that taste for martial exercises, which has always distinguished the free citizens of these States....Such men form the best barrier to the liberties of America Gazette of the United States, October 14, 1789.
