The .32 Smith & Wesson is a small pistol cartridge intended for use as personal protection at close range. The S&W Model 1 break-top revolver was the first platform for the cartridge. Intended for use at card table distances, the .32 S&W was considered the smallest cartridge acceptable for personal protection in its time. It fit the bill for being a gentlemans vest gun a small handgun for the vest pocket that was especially popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century. It was later surpassed by the .32 ACP. The .32 S&W may also be referred to as the .32 S&W Short.

Back in the 1980s and 90s, you could get a great deal on a 9mm Tokarev copy, if you didn't mind the wonky lettering on the slide. In 1951, as part of a short-lived period of Revolutionary Co-Prosperity with Moscow, Mao's China and Stalin's Soviet Union shared the technology package to build the TT-33 Tokarev pistol design in the land of The Red Dragon. In short order, an estimated 250,000 Tokarev clones, made with a mixture of donated Soviet and new-made Chinese parts, came off the lines as the new Type 51 pistol.

In an extraordinary session, the New York State Assembly and Senate passedand Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) signed into lawa sweeping new list of gun-control laws that seemed designed to nullify the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in NYSRPA v. Bruen, a majority opinion which confirmed that, yes indeed, the Second Amendments right to bear arms extends outside the home.

During this summertime phase of the offseason is when I start to get very eager. I find that the hunting itch becomes harder and harder not to scratch by the time Independence Day rolls around. Deer season has been over for a little over four months and we still have around three months until it starts back up again, at least for me in the Midwest. |

A new Associated Press-NORC poll released Friday revealed the major concerns for a majority of Americans are inflation and rising fuel prices, not social issues such as guns.
Guns only seem to be a big issue with identified Democrats, perhaps because it distracts them from thinking about the economy and fuel prices under Joe Biden and a Democrat majority on Capitol Hill.

A gun buyback program sponsored by the Fairfield Police Department Saturday not only took 92 firearms off the street but also brought comfort to the mother of a slain Fairfield City Councilman. "We're grateful for the people coming out and giving us their unwanted guns," said Teresa Courtemanche with the Matt Garcia Foundation, an event partner. That's a few less guns that could be used for violence, she explained. |

Its hard to imagine a good lineup of auto-loading shotguns that doesn't include something from Beretta. The European manufacturer is one of the oldest pillars in the firearms business. The company is well known for many notable firearms, but they are known in these parts for their shotguns, and the A300 Outlander is the one we are playing with today.
