000 buckshot, also known as triple aught buck, has one of the largest diameter pellet sizes found on the market today, making it great for both hunting and personal defense. When it comes to buckshot size, there are typically eight pellets with a diameter of .36 inches in a 000 buck round, depending on the shell size and manufacturer. As for 000 buckshot vs. 00, the size difference is about 0.03 inches, but the weight of an individual pellet can be as much as 30 percent more with the 000 buck resulting in more energy per pellet and deeper penetration.

One of the more common tactics of anti-gun extremists is to make some dramatic statement comparing our nations gun laws with some other aspect of everyday life. Every timenot usually or often, but every timethe comparison is wildly inaccurate. One of the more outrageous claims was made in 2016 by then-president Barack Obama (D), who claimed, We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book.

While its still hard to find the exact ammunition you wantand all but impossible to find it at pre-pandemic pricestheres hope yet that your fall wont be ruined. Heres the latest forecast as we approach hunting season.

Factory vs. Custom Leather Holsters: What's the Difference?

Handguns are often called belt-guns because you need a belt to hold the holster that holds the handgun. And ultimately, a handgun spends more time on your belt than in your hand. Back in the dayafter the Civil War when the handgun was becoming the primary arm for personal protection and self-defenseholsters were leather and mostly crafted by custom makers. Today, many handgun holsters are also made from polymer or Kydex, and most are factory produced. Custom holsters made of synthetics or leather are still made, but are they worth the money and what advantages do they offer?

Covid Andy's Junk Gun Laws and Lawsuits

New York governor Andrew "COVID Andy" Cuomo said he intends to address gun violence the same way he addressed the COVID-19 epidemic. This is hardly reassuring because his directive for nursing homes to readmit COVID-positive patients may well have killed thousands of senior citizens in 2020. While there is controversy as to the extent that the directive in question caused most of the deaths, common sense says you do not put people with a highly communicable and lethal disease in a setting with the people who are most vulnerable to dying from it along with their caregivers. The FBI is apparently investigating "whether the governor and his senior aides provided false data on resident deaths to the Justice Department" as well.

While all the talk has been on gun bans particularly in light of the Miller v. Bonta case but lets keep in mind that there are many attacks on our Second Amendment rights that could come aside from gun bans. One of the biggest avenues will be efforts to push licensing and registration.

A group of mothers is urging lawmakers to take action on gun safety after a new law made it free for Hoosiers to apply for lifetime gun permits. We are often seen as the enemy and we are not the enemy, said Heather Hibert, Moms Demand Action volunteer. We are pro-second amendment. We are a group that includes veterans and gun owners. We simply just want to make sure people are responsible with their firearms and that they dont get into the hands of someone who shouldnt have them.

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee signed two bills Monday putting new protections from gun violence into law. One bill aims to keep guns out of the hands of people who legally are not allowed to own them. The legislation creates a statewide ban on straw purchases, where someone buys a firearm and then gives or sells it to someone who cant legally purchase the gun on their own.

When a group of law enforcement officers held a press conference last week imploring lawmakers not to override Governor John Bel Edwards veto of concealed carry, it inspired Bossier Parish Sherriff Sheriff Julian Whittington to speak in favor of the legislation. My duty is to ensure their second amendment rights are protected. Its not up to me to guarantee that everyone in the parish is a trained marksman, thats not what this is all about, said Whittington.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has published a notice outlining their plans to update regulations on stabilizing braces. Originally developed to help those with disabilities shoot comfortably, stabilizing braces have become a popular firearm accessory used to legally adapt AR-style pistols into guns that can be shot from the shoulder, like the highly regulated short-barreled rifle.

If you Google the worst military guns in history, all the usual suspects will appear: the French Chauchat Machine Gun (WWI), the U.S. Liberator Pistol (WWII), the Japanese Nambu (WWII), the British Sten Gun (WWII), literally any turret gun (1800s), Colts Revolving Rifles (1800s), and the Ross Rifle (WWI). Each of these guns was a failure, but there were other weapons dating back as far as the 1500s that proved just as ill-conceived. Here is a closer look at the biggest war-time weapon blunders youve likely never heard of before.

When HBO Max debuted their new series of Looney Tunes Cartoons featuring revamped versions of the classic Warner Bros. Pictures characters, there was one key element missing from two of Bugs Bunnys most famous enemies. Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam werent seen using guns despite always blasting away at the wascally wabbit/lily-livered, bow-legged varmint in the classic cartoons. However, Looney Tunes Cartoons season 2 has pulled back on that a bit by giving Elmer Fudd his trusty rifle back.

December 1954. The Senate censures Senator Joe McCarthy; Bing Crosby is starring in White Christmas; Davy Crockett is fighting Indians on Disneyland; RCA introduces a 21″ color TV; and I am 15 and a junior in high school. I had a paper route with 103 customers and collected 35 from each one on Friday evenings. I had to ride the bus downtown within the next three days to pay my bill. Every weekly trip would also see me visiting two large newsstands looking for anything about guns. There were no gun-specific magazines being published yetor so I thought.

The Springfield Armory Hellcat showed the world what we could expect from the next generation of concealed carry guns. Packing an industry-leading 13+1 rounds into a chassis you could conceivably hide in the front pocket of your cargo shorts, the Hellcat brings full-sized combat pistol capabilities to the realm of deep concealment mouse guns. However, it seems the wizards at the Springfield Armory skunk works were not satisfied to simply sit back and bask in the unfettered coolness of this groundbreaking defensive handgun.
