When it comes to handgun stopping power, theres no shortage of experts, studies, theories, and anecdotes offering definitive proof that one cartridge is better than another. Gun History: Everything You Need to Know About How Rimfire Ammo Works is in the Story of the .22 Short. The first murder I investigated was affected by a pellet rifle. Years later, a bad guy who shot a cop and ran through our roadblock and was perforated by multiple bullets from multiple gunsand he lived long enough to sue the police department. All the experts and formulas will tell you that these were near statistical impossibilities. But they both happened. |

A stinging Op-Ed at The Hill recently put New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on notice that just because he appears to be taking some kind of action to combat the current spike in Empire State mayhem, it doesnt mean hell get away with something that is purely illusory.
The pieceauthored by Jonathan Turley, the Shapiro Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington Universitydetails how Cuomos plan may be something of a non-starter because it ostensibly allows people to sue gun manufacturers, and get around a federal law that prohibits such lawsuits. |

Based on the need for an improved small bore cartridge with high velocity, Hornady Manufacturing and Ruger Firearms joined together in 2004 to create the .204 Ruger. When it was introduced, the .204 Ruger was the speediest production .20 caliber cartridge in existence. The case was based on a slightly modified .222 Remington Magnum, making it the perfect round to hunt varmints. They necked down the .222 case to 0.204 inches, moved the shoulder of the cartridge forward, and changed its angle to 30 degrees. Rounds fired from cases with these changes in dimensions achieved an exceedingly high velocity and sub MOA accuracy at 100 yards, yet the cartridge generated less recoil than other rounds in its class.

I know judging by the image above youll instantly want to call out thats a shotgun! However, contrary to its ammunition usage and design, the new Rock Island VRF14 is in fact classified by the ATF as a firearm and not a shotgun. The VRF14 takes what I could consider being the natural endpoint of designs like the Mossberg Shockwave and Remington TAC-14 and turns the pump guns into some seriously powerful semi-auto goodness.

A judge says victims of the 2019 synagogue shooting in San Diego County that killed one worshiper and wounded three can sue the manufacturer of the semiautomatic rifle and the gun shop that sold it to a teenager, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday. [V]ictims and families in the Poway synagogue shooting have adequately alleged that Smith & Wesson, the nations largest gun manufacturer, knew its AR15-style rifle could be easily modified into a machine-gun-like or an assault weapon in violation of California law, San Diego County Superior Court Judge Kenneth Medel said Wednesday. |
