"Once again the New York Times is using its news pages to manipulate public opinion this time using a story about arming pilots in a blatantly obvious attempt to turn Americans against letting pilots have the right to carry guns against hijackers."
"In a Page One story, the citadel of 'mainstream' media once again proved just how biased it can be, especially in pursuit of the liberal agenda."
"The 'news' story was entitled "Armed Pilots? Many Travelers Are Gun-Shy." Reading the Times story, one would be led to believe that most Americans oppose pilots being armed."
"The Times never mentioned in the extensive article one filled with shrill, anecdotal worries of fellow liberals that several scientific polls taken since Sept. 11 show that an overwhelming number of Americans want pilots to be armed." |

The decision in question basically forbids (by pure executive fiat) concealed carry holders from carrying firearms on property within the control of the Department of Conservation and Recreation." |

Suppose that following the pivotal civil rights legislation and court decisions of the 1960s, municipalities had continued to carry on their books, and selectively enforce, every Jim Crow ordinance that had ever been promulgated. That would be a model for how gun owners and hunters rights are regarded by our society. |

A very in depth exposure of the legal maneuverings that OUR government is trying to enact, to prevent victims families from having their day in court.
A shameful attempt by our government to cover their own A$$.
"On June 20, Bush Administration officials quietly informed a New York judge of their intention to commence legal actions likely to be far-reaching in their constitutional, political, and individual rights implications pertaining to current lawsuits and government secrecy related to the attacks on September 11, 2001. The moves were revealed in a letter obtained from a confidential source, with two other sources corroborating its existence, adding additional information." |

by Bob Templeton, Crossroads of the West Gun Shows
"The McCain-Lieberman bill is a direct attack on the lawful gun owners of the United States. Senate Bill 890 is the bill which purports to be "reasonable legislation" to control individual collectors and gun owners who may want to buy, sell or trade a firearm at a gun show. The real motivation behind the bill is to restrict and regulate gun shows in a step-by-step procedure which will quickly lead to California-type laws and regulations. In California, every gun transfer must be processed by a licensed dealer and the government must approve any gun buyer. Even neighbors of thirty years or more may not buy or sell a gun to each other without government approval. What this and all other legislation on the state and national level to regulate activities at gun shows is about is restricting lawful Americans access to firearms." |

"When the Israeli army went into the West Bank last spring to smash what Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called 'the infrastructure of terrorism,' the Bush administration and most Americans saw the offensive as a legitimate act of self-defense. But elsewhere, Sharon's government was roundly vilified."
"Angry rallies took place across Europe. The European Parliament urged member states to impose economic sanctions against the Jewish state. A United Nations official called the Jenin incursion 'morally repugnant'."
"That quarrel betrays a deep divide between the U.S. and much of the international community, including some of our most valued allies in Europe. It's now on display over the International Criminal Court--which evokes enthusiastic support on the other side of the Atlantic but great skepticism in the Bush administration. Its resistance has generated a torrent of criticism, but the U.S. government would be irresponsible to subject itself to an unaccountable court that may become a vehicle for anti-American sentiment." |

"A would-be assassin pulled a rifle out of a guitar case and fired at least one shot as French President Jacques Chirac passed Sunday during the annual Bastille Day military parade. The man was arrested and no injuries were reported."
"The man was a right-wing extremist who intended to kill the French president, according to a government minister, Patrick Devedjian. He told The Associated Press that the man fired a shot and then tried to shoot himself."
QUESTION: Why is the media so quick to label anyone who uses force against the government -- or even speaks about the possibility of using force against the government -- as a "right wing extremist"? When some leftist whacko chains himself to a tree or vandalizes a cattle processing plant, why is it that we rarely (ever?) hear the term "left wing extremist"?
NOTE: That this person attempted to end the socialist president at the Bastille Day parade is noteworthy -- the Bastille was stormed by the people as part of a revolution where freedom was the objective. To the French people, this is similar to what it would be like if an American tried to kill President Bush on the 4th of July.
And considering the large number of people who were adamant about getting rid of Chirac in the recent elections, it's safe to say there are a few Frenchmen who wish this attacker had been a better shot. |

The city of Oakland, California held a rally against violence on Saturday. Allegedly, thousands of people showed up -- somehow thinking that drug-financed gangs will interrupt turf wars to listen to such pleas.
"Fifty-five people have been killed in Oakland so far this year, compared with 40 by this time last year. This includes two killings in the past week. Another man was nearly killed when he was critically wounded Saturday with a gunshot wound in the head about 3:15 a.m. in the 3100 block of Cuthbert Avenue."
"Police said the reasons behind the increase are complex and include drug disputes, a tanking economy and an abundance of guns."
IN THAT CASE... The abundance of cars is responsible for the criminal acts committed while driving. The abundance of women is responsible for the rise in prostitution. And the abundance of police officers is responsible for the increase in reports of police brutality. That settles it: ban cars, women and police, and everybody will start loving their neighbors. |

"The community needs to have trust in the police and not feel that there is a loose cannon out there."
"Since 1979, county police have investigated 34 incidents in which officers shot or otherwise injured suspects. In the vast majority of cases, the officers' actions were found to be justified, Korczyk said."
QUESTION: What about the cases where the officers' actions were not justified? How many of those officers were criminally charged and prosecuted to the full extent a citizen can expect?
"The Justice Department reports that police kill about 400 people each year in incidents determined to be justifiable homicides. The department does not keep statistics on killings in which police are found to have used excessive force."
WHY NOT?
"From 1991 to 2000, 644 police officers were killed in the line of duty and more than 600,000 were assaulted, according to the Justice Department. About a third of those killed were trying to make an arrest."
QUESTION: And of that number, how many were trying to arrest someone who allegedly violated a "law" that goes against the Constitution? In other words, how many of them were in actuality cases of citizens defending themselves and their liberties against armed public servants who'll enforce any law handed down? |
