Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said Monday that she will reintroduce legislation to tag gun trafficking as a federal crime, joining Eric Adams, the firearm-focused Democratic nominee for New York City mayor, to press her plan in Brooklyn. The meeting between the senator and the Brooklyn Borough President marked yet another chapter in Gillibrands decade-long push to create such a federal crime, and the latest conference on guns for Adams since he won the citys pivotal Democratic mayoral primary. |

The popularity of small-caliber pocket pistols chambered in .25 ACP and .32 ACP has waned considerably in recent years due to an ever-growing selection of sub-compact models chambered for larger cartridges, including 9 mm Luger and .380 ACPa transition that occurred, in part, due to the 2008 release of Rugers Lightweight Compact Pistol (LCP). This single-stack semi-automatic, chambered in .380 ACP, received a variety of upgrades back in 2016, resulting in the release of the LCP II, which remains a top seller for the company to this day.

A teenager in Escambia Count, Fla., was forced to fight for his life when he was assaulted in his car on July 12, 2021. The teen was at a friend's house that afternoon around 5:00 p.m., sitting in his car in the driveway ready to go fishing, when a 60-year-old man drove up and blocked the driveway. The man then got out of his vehicle and yelled at the two teens to leave, believing they were intruders. An arguments broke out between the teens and the man, but seemed to deescalate when the man began to walk back to his vehicle.

In the course of White House press briefings, Second Amendment supporters got good news, but they also found themselves facing a much greater short-term danger. The good news is that Jen Psaki probably handed enough evidence to prove that Silicon Valley has been acting as a proxy for the federal government to pretty much ensure former President Trump will win his court case. |

On June 29, Yves Giroux, Canadas Parliamentary Budget Officer, released a report on the estimated cost of implementing the firearm confiscation (buyback) program that is part of the sweeping Order-in-Council announced by Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on May 1, 2020. That law immediately banned more than 1,500 models of firearms (along with any current or future firearms that could be considered a variant of the listed guns) and established a time-limited amnesty that allows the owners of these formerly lawful guns to possess the guns until April 30, 2022 without incurring criminal liability. |

As thousands of Cubans protest against the islands communist regime, stringent gun control laws from Havana negatively impact their efforts.
Whereas in the United States, it is common parlance to say the gun rights enumerated in the Second Amendment protect the all the other rights outlined in the Bill of Rights, in Cuba the people are not allowed any claim to a natural right to keep and bear arms. This creates a disadvantage as Cubans fight for freedom. |

Welcome to todays Photo of the Day! Here we have a squirt gun from the 1890s. I looked into it and this USA Liquid Pistol was marketed for self-defense. The patent paperwork mentions the use of any liquid, but especially ammonia. As seen on the box behind it, it is to be used in defense against any dog (or man). |

Much has changed since last summer. In July 2020, notoriously anti-gun researchers circulated a paper that alleged an association between what they deemed excess gun purchases early in the pandemic and violence. This year, the same researchers disproved their original findings with the addition of new data. Doctor Garen Wintemute and his team at the University of California Firearm Violence Research Center at UC Davis found no association between what they dubbed excess firearm purchases and non-domestic firearm violence, and the association they found between excess purchases and domestic firearm violence through May disappeared when either state trends were included in the model or when June and July were added to the time frame. |

An AR-style pump action shotgun? Ive never been too intrigued with smoothbores, but certainly appreciate something designed for an easy transition from a platform I already know and love. Originally released under the Blackwater name, the Sentry 12 shotgun is now manufactured under the Iron Horse Firearms brand. Blackwater was Iron Horses primary investor from November of 2019 through April of 2021, when Iron Horse bought them out so both companies could best pursue their own diverging interests. |

The fate of David Chipman, President Joe Bidens pick to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), is now in the hands of undecided moderate Democrats such as Senator Jon Tester and Senator Joe Manchin. If theyre interested in protecting the Second Amendment rights of their sizeable gun-owning constituencies, they will reject his nomination. |
