Walther has long been known for its high-quality and innovative designs. Carl Walther created the first usable German semi-automatic pistol, the Model 1, in 1908. Just prior to World War II, Fritz Walther developed the first double-action/single-action trigger system in the Model PP. More recently, the company introduced the highly acclaimed model P99, which set new standards for modern, striker-fired pistols. And, of course, Walther is well known for its affiliation with the fictional British spy, James Bond, who carried a Walther PPK throughout most of the first 50 years of the franchise.

Two of the nations leading black gun rights advocacy groups are up in arms about what the FBI and the Trump administration have done to Rakem Balogun, a Texas community organizer whose support for a man who killed a police officer made him an FBI target and landed him in jail.

They on some bullshit, Maj Toure, leader of the black gun education and awareness group Black Guns Matter, said of the FBI during a recent phone interview. I support [Baloguns] First Amendment right, his human right of self-expression, and I support his Second Amendment right to self-defense just like anyone else.

Florida's "stand your ground" law could save a man from prosecution after he fatally shot another man following a heated argument over a parking space at a convenience store.

Tennessee is one of at least 20 states that have the "Stand Your Ground" self-defense law.

"An individual is authorized in using deadly force to defend themselves if they are in imminent fear of death or seriously bodily harm," Executive Director for Tennessee Firearms Association John Harris said.

Richfield Village Council considered new rules permitting indoor gun ranges at the July 17 meeting.

The new rules were necessary to allow such businesses to operate within the village.

Law Director Bill Hanna explained current village general offense ordinances forbid the discharge of firearms within village limits except in the case of self defense, in the course of official duties, or when otherwise lawfully authorized. The new ordinance added an exception for discharge within an indoor gun range.

Councilwoman Barbara Langford asked whether the proposed ordinance should also limit what type of guns may be discharged within an indoor range. The question led to an extended discussion of shooting range regulations.

Thirty-nine percent of Democrats support repealing the Second Amendment, according to a survey from The Economist earlier this year. Louisiana state senator Karen Carter Peterson tweeted Stevens op-ed with the caption repeal the Second Amendment in March, but prominent Democrats in office have been hesitant to call for an outright banning of gun ownership.

It is unequivocally not the Democratic caucus position to repeal the Second Amendment, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told The New York Times.

The shooting of Markeis McGlockton in Clearwater has hardly been the most outrageous application of Floridas stand your ground law. Not, as we say here in the Gunshine State, by a long shot.

The was captured by a surveillance camera, allowing the unseemly ramifications of the states to be seen on video, shown on television news and newspaper websites and disseminated across social media. The Facebook and Twitter universe could see, albeit in grainy black and white, just how far Florida has stretched the notion of justifiable self-defense.

What has happened is that the law repeatedly being called these terms has diluted the true meaning and understanding of the law by the public. They have no clue what the law really says or actually means. They now believe the medias portrayal of the law and have never even bothered to read the law.

Maybe now people might want to understand where those terms come from and learn more about the law that allows them to defend themselves and not have to flee criminals. This is a basic human right that should not even have to be written into law, but as humans we have a tendency to do just that to write down common sense to make sure those without it can read it.

To Build a Case for Guns in Public, a Judge Cited Racist Antebellum Legal Precedents

The decision was authored by Judge Diarmuid OScannlain, a Reagan appointee, who argues that courts cannot consider the implications of gun laws on public safety, but instead must limit themselves to evaluating a given firearm restriction against the text of the Constitution, legal tradition, and other historical evidence. Then OScannlain turns to such precedent some of which is dubious at best.

Namely, the judge cites a set of gun cases from the antebellum South, when the meaning of armed self defense in public was inseparable from a culture of dueling and fear of slave revolts.

A Texas woman was booked into jail and had to turn over her possessions after a car accident. She then got charged with being in possession of a prohibited item and was confused.

Kelly Broeker thought she was being a good mom. Got her daughter a self-defense item to feel safe on her way to work. She decided to get a self-defense keychain that you could use to get away from a would-be attacker. The cat one is popular with women since it just looks like a normal kitty keychain. You stick your fingers through the eyes and it gives you a little more punch.

She included her talking points in a Facebook post she made not long after giving the speech entitled The Right to Bear Arms in Russia . . . Where Neither Currently Exists.
Here is a rough translation by computer of her notes from Russian to English:

Or gun control advocates could appeal directly to the Supreme Court, with the same result. President Trumps election has made all the difference here.

To try to avoid a loss at the Supreme Court, the other option for gun control advocates is to accept their loss in the 9th Circuit and not appeal. Given the likely uproar in liberal Hawaii and California over people openly carrying guns on their hips, these liberal states will likely have to allow people to carry in some way and may revisit their extremely restrictive concealed handgun laws.

AR-15s are one of the main weapons used in mass shootings, so naturally a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate was encouraging his supporters to build the dangerous military weapons.

Austin Petersen is desperately trying to win Missouris Republican nomination to run for Democratic incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskills seat. The primary was scheduled for Aug. 7, but Petersen was expected to lose after his opponent Josh Hawley was endorsed by Donald Trump.

Over the past several days, the broadcast networks and CNN have shown a blatant double standard in showing more interest in a concealed carry holder who may have abused his right to self-defense by picking a fight with a man before shooting him, in contrast with several other cases from recent weeks in which gun owners more sympathetically used their weapons to defend themselves against unprovoked attacks.

The settlement agreement stated that designs for any non-automatic firearms up to .50-caliber, including the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, could be distributed online:

Under terms of the settlement, the government has agreed to waive its prior restraint against the plaintiffs, allowing them to freely publish the 3-D files and other information at issue. The government has also agreed to pay a significant portion of the plaintiffs attorneys fees Significantly, the government expressly acknowledges that non-automatic firearms up to .50-caliber including modern semi-auto sporting rifles such as the popular AR-15 and similar firearms are not inherently military.

Now Church is speaking out about the incident. While he says he considers himself a Second Amendment guy, referring to the right to bear arms, Church is blaming the NRA and gun lobbyists for being a roadblock to gun safety, according to a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

There are some things we cant stop, Church told the magazine. Like the disgruntled kid who takes his dads shotgun and walks into a high school. But we could have stopped the guy in Vegas.

The Desperate Man singer added: I blame the lobbyists. And the biggest in the gun world is the NRA.

There seems to have been a great deal of hoopla over the last number of years about the use of certain small .380 ACP handguns for personal defense. Theres a certain term that Ive personally shunned that refers to small firearms and a certain species of rodent. I dont care for the phrase.

Ive long been a fan of small, well-made handguns and have carried various models over a number of decades. Ive used these little guns both as a primary, concealed gun and also as backup during policework. Dont get me wrong, I still like a good .45 ACP or .44 Mag., etc., but a small, handy pistol is still something I covet.

After 21-year-old Trelin Reed was fatally ambushed outside of a North Austin convenience store in December 2016, homicide detectives looked at his social media history and arrested a man who agreed to fight Reed the night of the shooting.

But the case became muddled last month at trial when the attorney for defendant Jabari Mitchell criticized Austin police investigators for not pursuing other potential suspects. After weighing the evidence for more than 13 hours, a jury returned a not guilty verdict June 13 and cleared Mitchell of murder and all other charges.
