Joe Biden has long been a foe of the Second Amendment. His push for bans on modern multi-purpose semiautomatic long guns over the years has been a prime example. But the extent of his anti-Second Amendment extremism has long been well-disguised, partially because he played one group of gun owners against other groups. |

The ACLU has bought into the preposterous lie that the Second Amendment is intrinsically racist. This, of course, is surreal nonsense from start to finish so surreal, in fact, that I have to wonder whether Carol Anderson truly believes a word of what shes arguing. As even a cursory glance at the record shows, it is not gun rights that have been historically associated with racism, but gun control and to the extent that, up until about 1970, the two ideas were utterly inextricable in American life. To look back through this countrys history and conclude that it was the advocates of the right to bear arms who were the problem is . . . well, its chutzpah on a level I didnt know possible. |

During a July 21 CNN presidential town hall, Joe Biden expressed his support for a ban on commonly-owned handguns. Responding to a question about the recent increase in violent crime, the career politician stated, I'm the only guy that ever got passed legislation, when I was a senator, to make sure we eliminated assault weapons. The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether -- whether it's a 9-millimeter pistol or whether it's a rifle, is ridiculous. I'm continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things. |

Americans are an easygoing lot. We let bygones be bygones. If crazy Uncle Bob wants to rattle on at Thanksgiving dinner about global warming in the middle of the coldest winter in twenty years, we politely ask for more cranberry sauce. We have been known as "the silent majority." We vote pretty often, but we don't donate to politicians or volunteer on campaigns. And we certainly don't protest at City Hall |

Several years ago I mentioned to a man from Louisiana that I came from a state where doves were protected songbirds. Aint worth livin there, he said, matter-of-factly. His words gnawed quietly at me, and when my state finally did approve a dove season 10 years ago, I wanted to catch up for the decades of lost time. My attitude dictated my choice of shotgun. Those first few seasons, when I absolutely had to shoot every dove the law allowed, I shot 12-gauge semi-autos only. Ive since calmed down and gone to a 28-gauge O/U.

For years, voters in the Evergreen State have been assured that if only they approve certain gun control ballot initiatives, they would save lives and reduce crime. The Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (WAGR), the organization pushing these ballot measures, has made an industry (if the term applies to an entity funded by donations from billionaires) out of peddling a new gun control law every so often. |

Italian gunmaker Beretta has raised the curtain overseas on its PMXs, a new semi-automatic variant of the company's PMX submachine gun. The planned replacement to the classic M-12 SMG of the 1960s (aka The Spaghetti Uzi), the select-fire PMX was introduced in 2017, using a lot more polymer but almost doubling the older gun's rate of fire from a sedate 550 rounds-per-minute to a more scorching 900. It has been adopted by the Italian national police, the famed Carabinieri, and a few other agencies.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
As I have stood in the crosshairs of those who target Second Amendment freedoms, I've realized that firearms are not the only issue. No, it's much, much bigger than that. I've come to understand that a cultural war is raging across our land, in which, with Orwellian fervor, certain acceptable thoughts and speech are mandated. Charlton Heston |
