The National Rifle Association (NRA) issued a strongly-worded statement in response to the Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney-backed ordinance to ban guns in Richmond buildings and parks. Mayor Levar Stoney is using this as a publicity stunt to distract from his failing administration, Dr. Christopher Kopacki, NRA Institute for Legislative Action Virginia State Director, said. Richmond is reporting more homicides so far this year compared to last. Thats because Stoney has let gangs and drug dealers continue to run parts of the city."

Everyone has their own perspective, but some beliefs are more accurate than others. That is certainly true about gun-control. Do we have too little gun-control, or too much? Do we have too few firearms regulations or too many? Our answers say a lot about us, but the facts about gun-control can be confusing. |

President Donald Trump, who likely owes much of his 2016 victory to the National Rifle Association, came to the defense of the embattled organization Tuesday with an early morning twitter statement about NRAs current troubles with the State of New York, where the organization is incorporated.
People are fleeing New York like never before, the presidents message said. If they own a business, they are twice as likely to flee. And if they are a victim of harassment by the A.G. of the state, like what they are doing to our great NRA, which I think will move quickly to Texas, where they are loved..

A coalition of California gun rights groups has sued the state in federal court to prevent the enactment of a law prohibiting people younger than 21 from buying firearms. Once individuals turn 18, they are adults in the eyes of the law, said Carlsbad attorney John W. Dillon, lead counsel for the plaintiffs. Law-abiding adults are entitled to fully exercise all of their fundamental rights, including their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms for all lawful purposes, not just hunting or sport. |

Im also not interested in creating a parallel cultural universe wherein balaclava-clad gun bunnies pose for the gram (Id much rather shore up support for Rojavas all-women YPG Womens Defense Unit). Im interested in reclaiming the notion of armed self-defense from those who have long used it as a cudgel to repress dissent and terrorize marginalized communities, and emphasizing its potential as a transformative tool toward collective liberation.

On a chilly Friday night in Windsor, Colorado, the conservative, gun-loving rocker Ted Nugent entertained a crowd, talking about the Constitution, politics and freedom during a fundraising event for Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams. Well, well, well. What have we here? This must be real Colorado! Nugent said to the crowd. When I started coming here rockin and rollin in 1967 Boy, I was in Colorado, man! Ranching, rugged, individual-tough-s***-kicker Colorado! Now its like drooling hippie Boulder! What happened there?

Walmart will no longer sell guns in New Mexico according to an official with the retail giant. The news comes just one day after two new gun laws took effect in the state. Tiffany Wilson, director of communications for Walmart, said the new law would require Walmart associates to handle and potentially store handguns and modern sporting rifles, which are types of firearms that Walmart does not sell and associates are not trained to handle or render safe. |

The country music community has tended to lean to the more conservative side of American politics, and its artists often adhere to the "shut up and sing" mentality. However, there are a few acts who have stepped away from that crowd and shared their ideas on gun laws. Country music artists and fans experienced firsthand the violence and heartbreak that someone with a gun can unleash at 2017's Route 91 Harvest Festival. Fifty-eight fans of the genre were killed and hundreds more were injured when a gunman opened fire on the festival grounds during the final night of that event. |

In a letter to his wife, Abigail, John Adams wrote that this day will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be solemnized as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward and forever more.

There were 200 laws passed during the 2019 legislative session, and one of those laws was Senate Bill 150, allowing anyone 21 years and older and legally eligible to possess a firearm to carry a concealed weapon without a license. This law, which went into effect last week, does not require any measure of safety training or an individual to pass a background check. The Kentucky House of Representatives voted 60-37 in approval of Senate Bill 150. Governor Matt Bevin signed the bill into law on March 11. Kentucky already recognized the right to carry a firearm openly without a permit, but now joins 15 other states in allowing concealed firearms to be carried the same way.

Shotgun slugs add an entire new dimension and level of capability to the already impressive list of uses for a shotgun. While a shotgun with a traditional shotshell may be the best for upland game hunting, a #6 shot would hardly be effective for hunting feral hogs. So with the extended range and incredible power, the shotgun slug provides its user with the ability to hunt medium and large game with ranges in excess of 100 yards out of a smoothbore barrel. |
