The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, Calif., ruled that suspending a student for writing a poem with violent imagery was an appropriate response.
While the court acknowledged that the poem is protected under the First Amendment right to free speech, it said the school district acted properly in suspending LaVine because of fears that he could have carried out what he had written.

It's high time we conservatives took the offensive in the battle for the Second Amendment, isn't it? Because that's what the debate is about. This tiff between conservatives and liberals isn't about gun control. What's at stake is the very existence of the Second Amendment itself. Anti-gun nuts, in their more honest moments, will admit this. |
