The world body has received about 100 complaints from Americans who erroneously believe the conference seeks to infringe on their right to bear arms, U.N. Undersecretary-General for Disarmament Jayantha Dhanapala said Thursday. ~~~~ Only 100 complaints??!! You people are obviously not trying or they are lying.
Remember that as far as the UN is concerned anyone not working for the gov. is the wrong person to have a gun.

"Durban's R10-million metro police video surveillance system has caught out a rogue metro cop -- nearly three years after he attacked a handcuffed suspect for no apparent reason."
"This week the Mail & Guardian was given a copy of a police videotape that clearly shows an obviously defenceless suspect being struck on the head with a shotgun and then kicked with a well-aimed boot to his midriff."
Sounds like some of the cops in Prince George's County, Maryland.

Describing the attack on legitimate trade in personal property with phrases like "a little-noticed industry that can legally sell machine guns, assault weapons and explosives out of homes," the next "loophole" for the anti-rights bigots is emerging.
The gun control crowd is now seeking "legislation that would bar the sale of most firearms in residential zones."
What will they call it? The "Home Sales Loophole"? |

"The 27-year-old son of Sen. Jack Scott (D-Altadena) was killed at a Los Angeles party in October 1993, when a gun being shown by the party's host unintentionally fired. To prevent similar accidents from occurring, Scott introduced a measure that would require handgun buyers to pass a written test and demonstrate before a certified instructor that they can safely handle and fire their weapon." |

"AN ARMED gang was being hunted by police last night after a family of three was dragged from their beds, tied up and robbed. The masked raiders threatened the family with a gun before fleeing with cash and jewellery. The raid bore remarkable similarities to robberies carried out by thieves dubbed the Rolex gang who attack wealthy families around Londons commuter belt." |

Nathan Pailin, was too scared to undergo surgery, said his attorney. She argued that a court order violated her client's 4th Amendment rights against unlawful search and seizure. The order could not be enforced because at least 2 hospitals, fearing lawsuits, refused to perform the surgery without Pailin's consent. Lacking other hard evidence, the judge acquitted Pailin of robbery, aggravated assault and a weapons offense. |

~An interesting perspective on getting a concealed carry permit, by Laura Berman of The Detroit News, especially her #10:
"Once you get that long-awaited permit ... you might want to stay low-key about the whole gun thing. As one fellow permit applicant warned, if you brag about firearms and then get into any sort of trouble, prosecutors might then try to portray you in court as a "gun nut." So, shhhhh." |

"If you want a handgun of your own, you no longer have to explain to a county gun board why you need one. ... Lawmakers expressly included a school grounds provision, so parents don't have to disarm themselves before dropping off their kids or picking them up. Considerate, huh? The Legislature's wacky idea of a Christmas present -- more handguns for more people -- goes into effect today." -By Laura Berman of The Detroit News |

Another little "up yours" for the Fourth of July. As some of us celebrate our freedom, and others mourn its demise, comes another nail in the coffin. Now Colorado is spending an amount it refuses to disclose to "map" every licensed drivers face to look for those attempting to get multiple licenses. At least some are thinking ahead to other privacy-destroying uses. Are there enough patriots left in Co. to stop this, or is already too late? Makes me wanna puke. |

The UN is investigating whether irate letters and emails from American gunowners constitute a security threat. The "world body" received about 100 complaints from Americans who "erroneously" believe the conference seeks to infringe on their right to bear arms.
The gun-rights enthusiasts did not threaten physical harm to any UN official, but their protests were strongly worded and were turned over to UN security experts. "What concerned me was that there was a widespread campaign," UN Undersecretary-General for Disarmament, Jayantha Dhanapala said. "It's essentially a U.S.-based phenomenon."

The Ohio House of Representatives Civil & Commercial Law Subcommittee is holding hearings "all summer" on House Bill 274. These hearings are occuring in room 313 on Wednesdays at 2:30pm. Next week (July 11th) the committee will be holding it's first opponent hearing. Due to the language in House Bill 274 we intend to testify at the opponent hearings describing what we dislike in HB274. We need every available Ohioan who has been waiting for concealed carry in those opponent hearings. |
